I remember eating at the Red Rose Luncheonette as a kid and leaving with you clothes smelling all smokie as there really wasn't a non smoking section and just about everyone in the place lit up. They have come along way and you can now eat a great meal for not a lot of money and you don't have to worry about the smoke cause they have gone non smoking!
they have good sandwiches but i wouldn't rank them as the best. they have a large selection to choose from and they are reasonably priced compared to other sandwhich shops. locally owned and operated.
It's a toss up on who earns the title of best cheese steak in Lancaster, but Speeds is right up there as a very strong contender. Speeds is a Lancaster icon that I remember from my childhood. I'll keep eating there as long as they are around!
Rachels grow alot of the food that they use in their garden out back. They also compost the left overs. Everything is fresh and made on site and tastes wonderful.
The food is good and reasonably priced. It is a bar atmosphere though and I don't feel comfortable taking my kids in there. Very smoky even in the non smoking parts.
The Cat's Meow is probably most famous for their wings and their famous sauce. They are good but the sauce really resembles Frank's Hot Sauce. Not sure if that is the base of their recipe. The food is good, not extremely expensive and the atmosphere is comfortable and affordable for families.
Very good food with great service. It is rather pricey and not a place were you would go as a family. It is a great restaurant to take clients from work as the atmosphere is elegant and professional.
A nice place to eat after church if you don't want to wait for a table and if you are looking for an in expensive meal. The food is so-so. The service is friendly.
Damon's is your typical sports bar but also offers you a choice of dining smoke free in their dining room. You can't watch TV there but you can enjoy a quiet dinner free from smoke and bar noises. If smoke and noise don't bother you..head over to the club house side. Lots of TVs to choose from. Food is good and reasonably priced. We enjoy eating here as a family as well as without kids when we are able.
Typical diner fare at a great price. Twin Kiss takes you back to your childhood of great burgers and fries along with a root beer float. Yum good! Let you family experience this blast from the past!
