If you like chicken wings, you'll love the Buffalo Wing Factory. The one is Sterling is their original location. It looks like a pub/sports bar and it fill up during lunch hour. It has a great casual atmosphere in a little shopping plaza in Sterling off of Shaw road. They have about 13 different 'sauces' and even have 'flatliners'...to consume these you have to sign a waiver...they're that HOT. There's even a 'wall of fame' with the people's names who've had at least 10 flatliners in one sitting.
Great price and food quantity. Service is a little slow at lunch time so you'll need about an hour and a half. Substitute french fries for onion rings and you'll be truly delighted.
We live in Western Prince William County, VA and these people service our county and many other bordering counties too. They were extremely professional and courteous. What really impressed us is they showed up in uniforms and left our yard the exact way it was when they came in to build our 4 ft fence.
Because we have two home owner's associations, we had to ensure the fence was within acceptable specs. They did a PHENOMENAL job with the design, placement of the 3 gates, construction and we've recommended them to many of our neighbors and friends. Even though they are busy, we didn't have to wait long at all to have them schedule the visit. Decent pricing too. We are very happy we used them...it's been a few years now and our fence is still looking and standing great. Highly recommended.
Perfect place to stop on your way to see the leaves in the Fall; specially if you're heading to the Shennandoah. The Apple House is a quaint country roadside shop. They make apple butter, apple donuts, apple cider...you get the idea :-) Family friendly atmosphere and very clean bathrooms for that much needed pit stop. Great place for tourists and locals alike to congregate.
If you love getting pampered this is the place for you! For years he had his salon at Fair Oaks Mall and now for about 10 years he's in his own salon and spa building in Fair Lakes. I always request Alexandre and unlike other salons places where you have to schedule months in advance, he takes appointments, multiple people at a time so you don't have to wait so long to schedule yours. They are currently remodeling the mani-pedi section, making it bigger. He recently also updated the spa...it now has some adorable little glass tiles and excellent mood lighting. The place is perfect for men and women.
Oh and the price, a hair cut anywhere from $45-$60....Alexandre cuts mine so it's $60. Hair painting (highlights) plus haircut, shoulder length hair is $160. It's not cheap, but it's a great way to pamper yourself once every 5 weeks. HIGHLY recommended. They also do makeovers, have many other hairstylists, have a state of the art facility that looks intimidating from the outside but everyone is super friendly on the inside.
We love Dr. Bailey and his entire staff of veterinarians, vet techs, and administrative personnel. They are extremely caring and considerate. We have been taking our dog for about 9 years, referred by our neighbors who have been going there for over 10 years. They have 3 waiting room 'sections': when you first go in to the left is the 'cat friendly', the next area is 'kid friendly' and the last one is 'dog friendly'. They are a full-blown animal hospital but they also clip nails and basic stuff. We also love the husband and wife team of doctors (Fagan and Puzzo). They are right off of 29 so Dr. Bailey is notorious for treating all animals, including geckos, snakes, and anything anyone brings. They are all animal lovers and frankly, I get better treatment here than at my people doctors.
They are very reasonable with their prices...for example when we used to go to Ashburn, the basic office visit fee was $55. At New Baltimore its still $35. Highly recommend them!
It's definitely off the beaten path, hidden in an industrial park area, right before you get on the on-ramp for Fairfax County Parkway but it is a great place if you want a little bit of everything...from Chinese to Mexican, to Phillipine, to Thai....my personal favorite is their Mexican food, chicken enchiladas..their black beans are super authentic and tasty. It's not cheap, but in Herndon nothing is...average about $9.95 for lunch (not including drinks). It has simple decor and the food portions are generous--great place to hang out with people from work because of all the different cuisine choices. The servers are fast and efficient. It's the kind of place where you have to come back again and again. Lots of unique little businesses back there in that same area so it's worth checking out.
It's right off of Rte 29 in New Baltimore..past the Saab dealership, next to the 7-eleven...GREAT place to go for pizza BUT our favorite is actually their Gyros and french fries.
We love to go in the Fall and while my husband goes inside to order (and drink a frosty beverage or two) I wait outside with our pup...they have an outdoor sitting area (it's rather rustic but it's the perfect roadside family owned restaurant) that is dog and kid friendly.
I see a lot of bikers on their way to Shennandoah to see the leaves, stop by and many Sundays we see lots of pizza takeouts during football game half-times. You can call in your order, eat in or take out. It's very reasonably priced and the portions are very generous. Teenagers work the grill, but since it's family owned, it is very family oriented.
Best little kept secret in Sterling...they have 5 or 6 lunch specials every day which include Thai soup, an eggroll and the main dish all for $6.95. The staff is very friendly and fast. They are typically packed from 12pm-1pm but after 1pm, you can choose where to sit.
It's what some consider a 'hole in the wall' but it's great food for great price. My favorite is the #1 special--Chicken Pad Thai with a close second favorite, #2 special--Drunken Noodle (specially if you like it spicey--makes your nose run!). Highly recommended. I'm there once a week with a colleague and the staff remembers our selections...including what we drink...every time! Hungry? Go!
It's in the shopping center where the Safeway is...on the opposite corner and opposite side of where the grocery store is located.
