The food is not bad and the ambience is great. Located on the new golf couse at the Mission Inn Nickers caters to golfers and locals looking for a relaxed lunch overlooking a beautiful golf course. Try it.
Soup to Nuts located on Rte441 is not elegant but offers good food at a reasonable cost. We have eaten there a number of times and always been satisfied.
We have lived here at the Plantation for over 15 years and have seen it grow from about 500 homes to just under 3000 homes. Building is now complete and is now completely resident owned and managed. We have never regretted our retirement here neither have the vast preponderance of those that we know here. The amenities abound and can satisfy any taste. There are three activity centers, each of which has swimming pools and meeting rooms, as well as tennis couts, horseshoes, etc, two resident owned golf courses that are open to the public, 2 fitness centers and a vast array of activities. If you are looking to retire in central Florida I heatily endorse this community.
The library is housed in a beautiful new red brick building located on Main street in down town Leesburg. It has all of the amenities of a well run library and is a great place to pass time reviewing books in a serene setting.
We have enjoyed this laid back tour of the Dora Canal with friends and with our grandchildren. It is like cruising through a time warp as the boat wends through stately old trees, laced with hanging spaqnish moss. Usually there are gators resting along the banks, birds such as herons, osprey and even eagles nest to be viewed as well as beavers and other denizens of of this Florida haven.
The Books a Million store at Lake square Mall has an extensive offering of books for every taste. I enjoy browsing through there and taking advantage of their clearance items. There is a coffee bar which enable clients to peruse books and sip coffee. Very enjoyable.
We have subscribed to the Sentinel since moving to Florida 15 years ago. Our feelings about the content of the paper runs hot & cold. They keep changing the format and their current layout is not an improvement. I'm sure they are getting pressure to increase their profitability since being acquired by Rupert Murdock.
I give Publix high marks for the cleanliness of their store, the friendliness of the help, and the quality of their meat and seafood offering. Also they have the best bakery of any of the chains. I find that they are not cheap. I know that the high energy cost affects their cost but they do price higher than other super markets. For that reason I tend to focus on their specials and look elsewhere to fill the cupboard.
Over the years I have called in the Branch Garage Door people to service my garage door when a problem that I couldn't handle emerged. The repairs were always completed in a satisfactory manner a I considered the pricing reasonable.
The Mid Florida Eye Center has numerous Doctors on their staff offering a wide array of eye care. I have seen Dr. panzo a number of times and my wife has had more problems and been assisted by several other doctors on the staff. Many others that I know also uese the Center and no one has expressed any reservations about the quality of services rendered.
