Our office regularly orders their dessert trays for our functions. These are always artfully arranged and filled with great and fancy tidbits. I don't know what the pricing is, but I'm sure they aren't cheap. They are however great tasting, attractive and nice for a variety of occasions.
My little sister was shopping for a wedding cake and stopped in here a year ago for a consult. Not only was the person she met with condescending, but she was also not at all interested in accomodating the schedule of the wedding with cake drop off. Most weddings are on weekends, so I would have thought this was a common practice. They didn't seem interested in her business, or willing to work with her simple requests so she left.
This course is nice for all levels of play, and it's good for special events too. I play with a group of women here and really enjoy the challenging features as well as the nice greens. Greens fees are also reasonable if you come here for a round, and the pro shop staff are welcoming and helpful.
We recently celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary here with a large group of friends and were so pleased with the delicious food and attention given to us by the waitstaff. They thought of everything and made our special event even more special. Any restaurant that goes the extra mile and gives exceptional service is number one to us. The only issue was parking, but you always have to go early to find a spot nearby, and most going downtown know this.
We started coming to this office when our insurance changed and we needed a WDS preferred provider. Our family has really appreciated the thorough cleanings, the nice dental kits they give you at your exam, and Dr. Hamilton's professionalism. He's clearly at the top of his field, and it's nice to feel such confidence in our treatments. There's a before and after photo book in the lobby with some amazing results too. We give this office high praise and we're so glad we switched.
I love this place, the people, the way they really take care of you. I've gotten my hair cut and foiled here for two years now and have recommended several other friends in town to this salon as well. They have really worked with me on different ways to style my cut and techniques and products I can use to tame or straighten my hair if I want a different look. So much more help and creativity than what I found at my old salon down the street.
This is a wonderful little shop where they have classes to make albums, cards, invitations and other beautiful things. You can also buy just about any kind of rubber stamp and all of the interesting inks, papers and envelopes to go with them. I love nice paper and stationery, and I know I will always find something pretty here for the occasion. Very helpful staff with great creative ideas!
Drees is the store you go to when you are looking for something tasteful, beautiful and unique. I'm always inspired after spending time in the store - the displays are very well done, and the variety of items available for sale is amazing. They have great sales a couple of times a year, and though their goods are high-end, I don't consider the regular prices out of the ordinary. Staff is friendly and the little dog, Sophie, is a real sweetie!
I go to Kinkos when I need something to look professional and need it fast. For other important jobs that are not so time sensitive, I go to Minuteman Press over on Black Lake Blvd. and get it for less money.
I once had a label order Kinkos did for me that came out badly, but they didn't charge for the mistake, and refunded some of the cost because it was finished much later than they promised. It was a special order that was sent to another location. It all turned out OK in the end!
This place is great for pet supplies, and prices can be good on things when they are on sale. The grooming department is another story.
We take our Cocker Spaniel in to be groomed regularly at Steamboat Island, but they got booked up around the holidays and I was desperate to find something quick. I took her in here and mentioned that she had had an ear infection three months earlier. The groomer said that she wouldn't be able to do anything with her ears due to this past infection. When I asked why, she said very condescendingly, "would YOU want someone digging around in your ears if you'd just gotten over an infection?!" When I said again that it had been three months ago, and was now cleared according to the vet, she didn't relent. She said I would have to trust that SHE was the expert in this matter, and that owners often don't know what's best for their pets...she sees it everyday...blah blah blah.
I should have walked out since she was SO rude, but I stupidly left my dog there because it was the only place in town with open appointments. That should have been my first clue. I'll never go back. This groomer needs some serious customer service training!
I went here when they first opened about a year ago and had a wonderful time enjoying the wines and nibbles they served with a few friends after work. A few months later we came for dinner with a larger group of friends and experienced their great menu. I love that the portions are not over the top, and that real thought is involved in creating the menu - nothing pretentious or contrived, just great food with quality ingredients brought by knowledgeable, friendly servers. The atmosphere is cosy, and it could easily become that place you call "our place" when you celebrate special events.
They have wicked great martinis too, and a wonderful view of Capitol Lake.
