Incredible store! The owner is very friendly and was great with by 2 boys. They even got to feed a shark and puffer fish. Just walking around the place you can see all sorts of exotic animals. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to purchase, or even ask questions about, a reptile, amphibian, fish or bird.
The Learning Tree is a huge store in the Southgate Mall. It has so many different kinds of educational books, toys, games and more. The prices are a bit high, but the quality is evident and worth every penny! Give yourself time to browse as the selection is unlike any other children's store. There is even a huge tree that you can look at while shopping.
Fresh ingredients and a very wide variety. You can find all sorts of salad combinations and great sandwiches. The service is friendly, but expect a wait on weekends.
I have been to another Mi Piace and found that the Calabasas location was just as good. The food is hearty and fresh. The bread is so yummy. Be sure to get some to sop up the sauce from your pasta. We went with a large group and shared the Insalata Mi Piace, Margherita pizza, Penne All'Arrabbiata, and the pumpkin ricotta ravioli.
We waited for a table in the rain for quite a while. Once we were seated, they gave us a table right on the outer railing. My son thought this was cool since the rain was within arms reach. The service was slow. We had burgers and tacos. All the food was really juicy and flavorful.
Excellent Hawaiian coffee. Good selection of frozen and coffee drinks. I heard the smoothies were good as well. This is a very laid back place that makes it easy to take your beverage and walk the shops nearby.
Luckily I was told ahead of time that the wait staff would insult us! The hostess told us that we were a mangy looking bunch (we were fresh from a huge downpour), the waitress mentioned that we took too long to order. This is all part of the Durgin-Park charm and history. You will be insulted, that is not something bad, though. The food was excellent, the chowder was so full of potatoes, and lots of veggies! The bread was hot and crusty. So, take into account that there will be much attitude, but it makes it fun!!! This is a place that you need to stop at if you are in Boston.
This is the original mix in your own ingredients yogurt shop! You can order sweet or tart and then add any of the dozens of ingredients that you want to create your pwn personal flavor. The mixing machines are washed constantly so there is no little to no risk of allergic items getting mixed in with others. The line tends to be out the door, so try to get a hold of a menu so that you can plan your mix while you wait!
I love the chicken sandwiches at Koo Koo Roo. The tangy citrus marinade makes the chicken juicy and tender. The choices of sides are great! There are so many. I usually take the sweet potatoes and green beans. The green beans are lightly marinated and really good. The carved turkey is excellent as well. Parking at this location is really tough, so plan on circling the block an few times.
You can sit back and enjoy a drink and some laughs at this improv cafe. You never know if the entertainment is going to be good or not, so don't have high expectations.
