The salads are made right in front of you. It makes it easy to add a little more or less of what you really want. The ingredients are fresh and the dressings are very high quality. The corn bread on the side is like dessert.
Il Fornaio is my favorite italian restaurant. They make a penne arrabiatta that is unreal! Their bread is so good, and their desserts are always not only delicious but beautiful as well. Make a reservation, and leave the kids at home.
I have been a Koo Koo Roo fan for years! I love their chicken breast sandwich. They marinate the chicken in a tangy citrus marinade and it is always juicy and tender. Their hand carved turkey is very flavorful as well. The sides vary day to day, but some of the mainstays are excellent. You can even call ahead and it will be hot and waiting for you. Yum!
Gelson Market Bakery has some of the finest cookies, cakes and other baked goods I have seen in a long time. They make all sorts of specialty items for various occasions. This is a kid friendly place with samples if you ask.
I have been a loyal Ambers customer for over 20 years. Their chicken has never changed. The addition of donuts, and some other kinds of food seem odd, but the Amber's chicken still rules the roost. Be sure to get their cole slaw and wedge potatoes on the side.
Expect to wait for your table at Juniors. You will be rewarded with a menu that is enormous, food that is incredible and service that is unique. The cheese blintzes are the best I have ever had! I would make the trip over the hill just for those! Keep an eye out for celebrities. It is a big place and very crowded, but you never know who might be at the table next to you.
My husband is from Chicago, so trying to find a real Chicago hot dog out here is very hard to do. Q T Chicago Dogs comes very close. They use Vienna Beef which is the best in our opinion. The prices are high, but standard for Vienne Beef. The menu is kid friendly and there is usually not a long wait.
You truly feel like you have stepped into the Amazon rain forest when you walk through the front door. There is a huge waterfall in the center of the restaurant, lush plants all over and the lighting is dimmed. The food is great. They have a mango chicken which is really tasty! Their drinks are strong, but really good.
Habit has good burgers with generous toppings. Their chicken sandwiches are pretty tasty as well. It can get crowded, so if you go with another person, have them save a seat for you.
I used to stop here on my way to work for a toasted bagel and cream cheese. There is usually a line on the weekends, but weekdays are much shorter. The coffee is good as are the various flavored bagels.
