Straghn & Son is a family owned and run business that will treat you like family. They will be there for you and will give you a fair price and quality service.
Elmo's is a great place for Sunday Brunch and if you get there a little late and find yourself waiting, you can have a cup of coffee and read the paper. The prices are good and the food is better.
I went to Hh Gregg looking for a TV stand for a 52" Samsung. It was near closing so I'm guessing that's the reason the salesman simply pointed me in the direction of the stands. I thought their selection was rather small and their prizes a bit high. Although no one seemed eager to help or offer advice, in fairness, I will try them again - earlier in the day.
It is always difficult to reach Time Warner Cable by phone and the lines are always long when you go to their location. But I must admit, when you reach an employee you recieve the very best customer service. I stood in line for perhaps twenty minutes the other day to exchange a remote and was good and aggravated. Yet, when I reached a customer service rep, she apologized for the wait and gave me her undivided attention. The same is true with the service men. Usually I'm angry by the time they come out, but they are so professional and dedicated to the task when they arrive that my anger soon subsides.
Fast and friendly service is the trademark of this restaurant. Located in a dying shopping center, Kwik Wok seems to be holding its own. Even though several stores have closed, you'll feel safe because usually there will be at least a couple of sheriff officers eating there. I usually use their take-out service and call ahead. The food is good and they give generous portions.
Everyone agrees that Chicken Hut does an excellent job of catering large, small and every size event in between. My wife insists on getting Peggy's 7-layer salad with each catering order. But each day the restaurants serves up the best home cooked meals anyone could ask for. The liver, rice & gravy keeps my wife going back. Partial to fried foods, I've discovered the baked chicken is just as tasty and better for my health. Spurging here is worth the extra exercise I have to put in later.
Are you looking for old town square charm, the Arcade has been a staple in Lake Wales. The Arcade used to be the place to be in Lake Wales and now you can get a cup of Jo and a sandwich.
The best meal deal in town is at Cook Out. The service is fast with two drive-thru windows. This has become one of our weekly spots. The BLT is made with thick, slab bacon and is delicious for only 99 cents. That's my wife's favorite - that and the very berry shake. The prices will get you to the window, but the food will keep you coming back.
Are you looking for a family practice in Lake Wales, then Dr. Ancaya is the one you are looking for. He has provided quality service for my family for a long, long time. Give them a try they will not let you down.
When my air conditioning unit just stopped working, I called a repairman who decided I needed a new compressor with a hefty price tag attached. Opting for a second opinion, I called Absolute Air Care and I'm certainly glad I did. Absolute came out, checked the unit, replaced a cap, added freon and changed the filter and the unit is as good as new. Incidentally, the cost was nominal. I highly recommend this business - ABSOLUTEly!
