I called Muir Termite and Pest Control because I saw an ad that said 'no charge consultation' The owner Steven Muir came to look at my problem and he was the most knowledgeable inspector I have found yet. (and I've used many many exterminators in the past) I had the worst ant problem for years and tried everything I could think of and anything anyone suggested. I have dogs, cats, rabbits and geckos (not to mention kids) so I was very worried about the chemicals but he assured me there were no chemicals that were harmful to anything but the bugs. I've been 'ant free' for 3 years now and it's all because I had Muir Termite and Pest Control over to do the work.
Dessert Alert is an incredible little business that provides delicious individual desserts as party favors. They are not a bakery. You go in and look at a catalog or you can go on line to see what they have. Everything from cookies, brownies, donettes, cupcakes, (my favorite red velvet) lemon bars, whoopie pies, etc... Everything is special ordered. The owner says they spent a lot of time developing a product with no added preservatives or fillers. The best part is they deliver.
If you can please a sixteen year old girl you can please anyone. I brought my daughter in there thinking that she would just turn her nose up to the styles inside and I was wrong. She was very happy with the selection and we actually bought many tops. We have been back a few times at her suggestion. The prices are very reasonable.
Went there because of the name. I was born in Hawaii and thought they might have interesting, exotic flower arrangements. I was right. There are so many flowers to choose from and the people who work there are so nice and creative. My friend raved about the arrangement we sent her.
I love this place. A great place to hike close to home. There are 2 trails you can hike one is a family trail meaning the whole family can make it. The harder trail is for people who hike often. Some of the terrain is steep and it's definitely a good 2 hour hike. There is actually a lake way back in the hills. My family has had many picnics at Towsley. There is usually water in the stream unless it's an unusually dry year. I used to bring my dogs to walk with us but they have come home with 'ticks' so they no longer go with us.
Our first home was a definite 'fixer upper' in Canyon Country. Within the first few months the drains started backing up. I went through the phone book and got a few quotes. The were anywhere from a $50 service charge just to look at the job or thousands for a new water main. Ace Drain was referred to us by a neighbor and when we called them they came within the hour. They not only unplugged the drains but told us that the reason they were backing up was because the roots were growing around the old pipes and all we had to do was buy some root manager and flush it in the toilets just before we go to bed. We did it every 6 months and the roots never gave us a problem again. Thank God for Ace Drain!!
My daughter has been a member of Young Life since she was in 7th grade. They are a Christian fellowship group for junior high and high school teens who meet at homes of teens in the SCV. The leaders are well trained young adults that all the teens look up to. Great role models. The organization is second to none. What a great idea! They bring teens together with the idea of teaching them about Christianity with a strong emphasis on morals and values in our current society. The YL camps are incredibly fun and the kids come home with great stories of how they made new friends and got to let their guard down and just have fun.
Piccloa Trattoria Italian restaurant is a great little place to eat. The meals are delicious, especially the ravioli. We split a meal and a salad and it was more than enough for 2 people to eat. The only down side to Piccloa Trattoria I found is that they don't have a banquet room or an area for a large group to get together. Otherwise, our experience there was great. Delicious food and great service with a smile.
Mountain Woods is a large distribution company for kitchen ware and accessories, They carry plates, bowls, silverware, cutting boards, etc. We went in to see what they had in stock and the salesman was so nice and informative. We will be having a big party in the summer and they will definitely get our business. There are also many gift ideas and there is even gift wrapping available. I give this business a 'thumbs up' and really hope they do well her in the SCV.
I'm so sad that they are no longer there. I love the food. Went there for their Italian subs to take out every couple of weeks. If there's anyone out there who knows if they opened somewhere else please let us all know!
