with the exception of the staff, the gym itself is very nice. fully equipped the the latest cardio equipment and free weights, none of which are mismatched. it's even got a second floor dedicated to females that are uncomfortable around the opposite sex below them. the interior is dim-lit which can be very distracting and frustrating. the membership fee is substantial as well. besides that, it's definitely worth checking out.
Great staff, but I can't say too much about the salesmen. The salesmen have yet to pressure any of my referrals into an unwanted membership. Most of them were quite helpful and willing to give innocent trial memberships to all of my friends. the staff here is nothing short of exceptional. The equipment is well rounded, catering to every type of individual. There has never been a problem with the equipment; most of which are well maintained and up to date. Although it's lacking a couple essential machines, this gym is worth the time to check out if one is in the area.
friendliest staff of all 3 in town. most of the members are friendly as well. slow paced gym, almost never busy. never have to wait to use equipment. all of the machines function and are up-to-date. olympic grips on all dumbbells makes this gym much more admirable than the other two in town.
the gym is in tip top shape. most of the equipment was recently updated. however, some of the dumbbells have mismatched grips. also, this gym can get a little busy during peak hours. if you're staying at one of the hotels in this area, definitely take the time to swing by. approachable staff, friendly members, clean and well maintained bathrooms. this is a truly welcoming gym for those that feel intimidated or pressured to work out.
don't let the size of the place fool you. the employees here are excellent individuals that would be more than happy to assist you. short on change? that's never the problem at this place.
this gym was a pain to find. who would have ever expected it to be below ground? it's downtown location doesn't make it very appealing either. i was approached by a number of vagrants looking for a quick buck. it was a terrible experience, almost as bad as going to arco ampm for gasoline. with the exception of the cardio equipment, a majority of the machines were outdated and unmaintained. the selection of machines seemed limited to businessmen and women that desire a quick workout in between their breaks. the instant i arrived, i felt uneasy and unwelcome. the front desk staff were unfriendly and unmotivated and the salesman was unusally pushy. the men's bathroom was clean, but lacked proper maintenance. there's a nice sized hole in the wall next to the stand-up urinals. there's simply too much to say about this gym and none of it is good. this particular facility is in need of a complete overhaul of staff and equipment. it was a terrifying mistake for ever considering this place worth referrals. i've definitely been to better 24 hour fitness gyms in california.
having just moved to the long beach area, the first place i wanted to go was the gym. i was impressed with the size and cleanliness of this facility. a lot of the cardio machines are newer equipment. however, the gym was lacking in several essential machines. most of the machines were old and limited in access. this facility could definitely use an upgrade.
