These guys know what they're doing. It's a family-owned business and they do a good and honest job for all their customers, however small.
They have a wide range of flowers, with two large coolers. I've seen some very cool flowers there, ranging from the everyday roses and such to flowers like the bird of paradise. They usually have very good lilies in stock. Their arrangements are very tastefully done - the head designer will work with you to make sure they do the job that you expect them to.
I believe they also do weddings, funerals, and other occasions (birthdays, bar mitzvahs, etc.). Some of my family friends have had some work done and they loved it.
They are a bit expensive, but they will do a quality job on your flowers and you will not regret it. They are friendly and easy to work with. Highly recommended florist in the area.
This is one of the nicest car dealerships in the area. As the name would suggest, they only deal out Toyotas and Scions, but all of their sales people are extremely friendly and willing to help out. My parents purchased our Scion from there and it's been extremely useful for our family. We really appreciate the help the sales guy gave us in the purchase.
I personally have a lot of experience with their repairs department - I've had a whole tune-up + brake replacement + oil changes + other repairs done by these guys. As expected, their prices are a little higher, but those genuine Toyota parts and guarantee might be worth it. They do have specials every now and then which helps you save some money. They have an extremely nice service department and they are relatively quick with your repairs. I got 10% off from the repairs I had thanks to the guy I was dealing with.
I would recommend this dealership to anyone who is looking for a Toyota/Scion and definitely to anyone who needs work done on their Toyota/Scion!
The first thing you'll notice about this place is its decor. It's very neat, organized, and you can even go online for a small fee in the corner at the computers. It's a very nice place to have dessert with your girlfriend or just to relax with your friends.
They have a variety of different flavors, ranging from coffee to tiramisu. They will let you sample, but I think they're all very good, so you can't go wrong with any of the flavors. I haven't tried any of their other stuff on the menu, but if you want coffee, Yolato probably isn't the place you should be at.
The prices tend to be a bit expensive, be ready to shell out $4-5 for a relatively small cup. This is definitely not a place to go if you're trying to enjoy lots of ice cream - this place is more about the decor than anything.
Recommended for those in the area looking for a nice place to grab some tasty gelato and relax with a friend. However, the prices make it a little prohibitive for those on a budget or do not have lots of money to spend on such food items.
Golden Eagle Diner, also known as the "dirty bird" diner to us in the area, is a decent diner. The parking is plenty and it is very conveniently located in the center of Palisades Park. The streets can get somewhat crowded, but it's not a huge problem.
The food is decent, they don't really specialize in anything, but just like all diner food, their breakfast is pretty good and their burgers are pretty decent. The prices are average too. I'd say the diner is a bit larger than your average diners, but it is still your local diner.
Recommended if you're in town and need something to eat late at night or early in the morning (they are open 24/7). However, if it's within the more reasonable hours of the day, you are better off eating some of the Korean restaurants in the area.
Masa Sushi & grill has the most authentic Japanese cuisine in the area that I am aware of. I was told that all of their ingredients are procured from Japanese wholesalers, so they have good quality and guaranteed freshness.
They specialize in sushi, mostly, but they have an entire menu of entrees of chicken or beef, whatever you like.
You'll probably spend $15 or so during lunchtime and $20-25 during dinner time. It is a great restaurant though and they really have great sushi. Recommended for anyone in the aera.
This is one of the few times you will find a non-chain movie theater in the area. Downtown Ridgewood happens to be a very busy place most of the time and this well-located theater benefits from the foot traffic.
Even though I frequent Ridgewood, parking will be hard to come by. You are best off parking either on the side streets away from the main street and doing some walking.
The theater itself is decent. It is not the cleanest place and the food is ridiculously expensive as expected. The ticket prices are also higher than normal theaters, about $10 for an adult ticket I believe. The screens aren't that large, but for a local theater, you cannot expect much.
Personally, I recommend that you go down to a chain theater, even if it is a bit of a drive. This theater only has 4-5 movies showing at a given time and it may not have your film of choice. There are plenty of other quality theaters in this area you can go to instead.
Penang is a very nice restaraunt - very spacious inside, the decor/atmosphere is great for those who want to have a nice dinner out, and the service is relatively quick.
The food is on the better end. The Thai Iced Tea is not that good compared to some other restaurants but the food is pretty good. The appetizer of choice is the #1 on the menu, I can't remember the name. It's absolutely fantastic. My friend had the beef chow fun which was very good and the beef dish I had (#56 on the menu, I believe) was very good as well. The beef was a little stringy though.
Even though the desserts are decent, I wouldn't spend your money on them though, there is a Rita's right next door.
Overall, the food is pretty good, but if you get any dishes with meat or seafood, you're looking at $13-25. So for two people, you're looking to spend a little over $40.
Penang is a good restaurant, it's a bit pricey depending on the dishes you get, but it is recommended for those who are looking for some decent Thai food.
Bogota golf & sports center is mainly catered to the golfers in the area and has a very reasonable price for those who wish to hone their golfing skills. For about $12 you can hit a large bucket of balls and be on your merry way.
If golf isn't your thing, they also have an indoor mini golf course - it's not that great or well kept, but it's a decent place to go if you're bored with your friends. They also have batting cages and basketball hoops so if it's winter, you can come here to practice basketball.
Highly recommended for those who are into any of the four sports mentioned above. The employees are very nice and the prices won't empty your wallet either.
This is one of the nicer golf courses around that is available to the general public. The course itself not very difficult, but there are definitely some challenging holes, especially for beginners.
My dad paid for the tee-off so I'm not sure as to what the price is, but compared to other golf courses, I hear it's rather affordable. They also have a pro shop and a cafeteria if you're looking to eat something. They have people selling water on every 4 or 5 holes, from what I remember, which is excellent on those hot days.
It's a quality golf course and very enjoyable for most people. I recommend it highly to those who have not already tried it out!
The Orchard HIlls Golf Course is a 9-hole course - you can go around twice for the full 18 hole experience, but it's not necessary. For a public course located right off a main street, it is pretty well kept. The holes aren't particularly difficult and it is a good place for beginners to try golfing.
The fees are manageable as well, you will have to get a card as a registered Bergen County Park user. I think that's $20 or so.
Overall, it's a quick drive from most places in Bergen County and it's a inexpensive way to get some field experience. Not recommended if you're looking for a wonderful golf course though.
