I've ordered their pizza three times. It would be better if the crust was browned more; it always seems a bit undercooked. The sauce is good, and they have a wide variety of toppings available.

I also ordered their pasta; it was good, but ordinary.

I like the fact that they can always work me in, even if I call for an appointment on short notice.

When I was losing my hair because of chemotherapy, they shaved my head for free! Now that's compassionate service!

They listen when I ask for a specific hairstyle and always have helpful suggestions for hair care.

Their prices are reasonable, too.

Bradigan's Inc

Bradigan's services my furnace and my central air conditioner. They are quick to accommodate early or weekend appointments, which means a lot to me because I don't have to miss work. They are thorough, come when they are supposed to and within the time frame given, and in the three years since they installed both the furnace and air conditioning I've needed nothing but routine maintenance.I would definitely recommend them on the basis of service. If you have a contract, you will also get discounts on parts.

Trader Joe's

Trader Joe's combines the best of both worlds in a grocery store: reasonable prices and unbeatable variety.

They have many ethnic, organic and just plain unusual selections as well as prices far more reasonable than you would expect for a high-end food store.

The staff is very friendly and helpful, and their specials are unbeatable bargains.

I even do Christmas shopping here because there are so many things I can't find anywhere else.

Horses & Hounds

This is a very small store combined with a grooming facility. They carry not only dog and cat items but a fairly wide assortment of horse merchandise as well.

What I like about this place is how knowledgeable the staff is regarding pet nutrition. This is one of very few places in the area that sells high-quality commercial dog food, and they were able to answer all my questions about the differences in brands and varieties.

They are not cheap, but they know their stuff!

Greendale Tavern

It's nice to have a restaurant that is open both early and late in this rural area. Combined with a bar and bowling alleys, Greendale Tavern is a great place for a late night snack as well as a place that opens early for breakfast.The quality of the food is a little inconsistent; I've had both mediocre and good meals here. The desserts are homemade, and the wings look like they came from turkeys! (I'm vegetarian and can't attest to their taste, but they surely look good.)The service is always friendly.

Hampton Veterinary Hospital

Dr. Wen combines the best of Eastern and Western veterinary medicine to give your companion the best possible care. I am involved in Basset Hound rescue and always have multiple geriatric hounds living with me. Dr. Wen has answered pages in the middle of the night, seen me on a Sunday with virtually no notice, and patiently answered question after question about a sick pet.

He offers Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture in addition to traditional veterinary care, and his treatment alternatives have given my pets longer and better quality lives.

Charley's Place Restaurant

Charley's Place has a casual and homey atmosphere with a menu varied enough for everyone. Their specialty is Italian food, especially pizza which is made to order while you wait. There's nothing fancy, exotic, or complicated about the food, but the portions are ample and everything is fresh.

Kittanning Veterinary Hospital

I am involved in Basset Hound Rescue and always have multiple senior-age bassets living with me. The veterinarians and office staff at this practice are both caring and professional and really work with me to ensure that my companions receive quality care at a reasonable price.

I am impressed with their on-site ultrasound and laboratory equipment; we get test results right away.
