We've been to this place several times on Beat Walk nights, where they've featured some fun bands. They have yummy, fresh Mexican food here, good drinks and very Mexican atmosphere and decor. This was also a very nice Cinco de Mayo location.
This place is a cute little hole in the wall that serves good coffee, has some nice appetizers, and also serves drinks. I miss having them on the Beat Walk route, which is a music night once a month. They always had some of the best bands.
This is some of the best pizza in Seattle. It's got a thin crust that is delicately fired, with bits of charred spots on it, delicate tomatoe sauce, fresh ingredients. I love their Quatro Stagione pizza. For dessert, their gelato is great and their espresso drinks are dark and rich.
I love this place. It's got the sweet ambience I like and delicious, fresh, creative italian food. Sometimes, creativity can bring some mixed reviews -- my boyfriend got a pizza that had eggs and anchovies on the top. I thought it was tasty, but it was a bit strange to see and think of. I have loved all my food, however. No complaints. Delicious pastas, heirloom tomatoes with mozzarella and delicious olive oil. Definitely special.
We discovered this place during Beat Walk one night, and found it off the "beaten" path, kind of in an alley way. It's got a nice atmosphere, with a wine bar and tables if you want to sit for a while. We heard a nice guitar trio called "Lost Pedro" there, which was also very nice.
This place is one of the mind-bender type of art places. Some of the art I find whimsical, funny, out of the box, challenging. Some, I just don't get nor appreciate (like the artificial turf on the floor with the elementary are painted on the ceiling).
We've been to this gallery several times on Gallery Walk nights. One of the striking ones I remember was one that was beautiful animal paintings kind of playing with "what ifs" in evolution, or possibly genetic mix-ups due to polution, like a bird with a tail, or little mice and bunnies with antlers, or birds with many heads or legs. Beautiful, but thoughtful and eery at the same time.
This place has very creative, beautiful works by all kinds of students and in all kinds of mediums. It's a pleasure to see the experimentation going on in these pieces.
Most of the paintings here are of 1940's, 1950's movie stars, or paintings like them. They are painted very softly in watercolor or pastels. Beautiful soft effects.
This place hosts artists that are vibrant, whimsical, philosophical. Natural bird paintings of birds with shadows, sculptures of non-descript objects with unusual textures and colors. Lots to stimulate and experience.
