Minus two stars for grubs and manual labor. I was never told I would have to help the poor old man unload 400 yards of sod from his flatbed truck in my driveway, which I hadn't prepared space for. Then the sod had grubs in it. I managed to get rid of them with Milky Spore though -- highly recommended and organic.
Dr. Salah and the Progressive Dental family go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and aware of your dental care options. I dreaded the dentist of years -- neglecting to go without insurance for 6 years. When I finally returned, Dr. Salah had bad news for me -- nearly every tooth needed a filling. But the took care of me and my mouth by biting off only as much as I could handle physically and financially at a time.
Everyone in the area goes to Sandy's at one point or another -- and always returns. The new building with patio is a greta addition to the new downtown Redford at 5 Mile & Beech. It's also in walking distance for most North Redford dwellers -- always a DD bonus.
The best part about Beech lanes is that it's extremely relaxed and fun to bowl at. No one is overly competitive, the people are nice -- and it's not trashy either. Their beer prices are okay. Both the food and decor could use a major overhaul though.
Fantastic tasting pizza with minimal sauce and more than enough cheese! Everyone who has tried their pizza at our house loved it. Prices are better than most pizza joints, too. They have all the pizza joint standards such as subs, cheese bread, etc. MUST TRY!
You'll certainly find mostly anything you need for your pool at reasonable price. They also usually have good seasonal sales on their equipment and toys -- be sure to stop in and take a look!
Tired of the chaos at Home Depot -- and the drive to it -- this corner hardware store carries everything I need in a pinch from pluming to painting, indoors and out! They're very knowledgeable and will find an answer if they don't have one. A great way to support the neighborhood.
Maybe their main business philosophy is quality of quantity, and maybe thet don't get the foot traffic to support a large selection. The cannollis were fantastic -- but I needed more for the party i was going to. Another great Redford business in need of advertising and marketing support.
Get in and get out -- or come have a cup of coffee and a long john as you read the paper and watch the city awake. Fantastic service, good selection and always the best prices on doughnuts and other breakfast foods.
A landmark in Redford and located in the new "downtown" area at 5 Mile & Beech Daly, the Redford Grille is a long-time rendezvous for friends. They are in need of some updating though -- the decor is old and food not-so-great. Prices and service however are okay. We would love to see this place get a mini makeover.
