I wish I could say that I had the opportunity to go in and try the farm to table concept going on at Food 101. I was given a couple of gift cards by my sister and did not realize they had an expiration until I went to make a reservation. I called and asked if I could get at least a portion of them honored, since they did cost money. I was given a harsh and quick flat out no. From a customer service perspective, this is a terrible way to do business. They essentially just took the money and ran! Too many places to grab a bite in the metro area to treat potential customers with such poor service.
I am a big fan of LInda's and think they offer great food for the price. The decor could be nicer but hey, the food more than makes up for it. Always good service too. Great for date night or a group dinner.
I absolutely love this place. The service is so great and the sushi is awesome. I get take out from here too and it is just as great as going in. There is something for everyone at Asian Garden.
Wings, fries, burgers, and beers. Gators Dockside is good for some good casual eats with friends to watch the game or play some pool. It's a great place for a chill night on the weekdays or weekend.
I have stayed here a few times while visiting friends and I always have a great experience. We love the bars in the hotel and the staff is always very nice. The decor in the rooms is a bit dated but it is very clean.
I had some goods from Sugarplum Visions at the Farmer's Market in the square and I did not like it at all. I had the cupcakes with lavender and then some lemon cookies. I felt sick the rest of the day and they didn't taste that good either. Their store is in a good location (the north end of Marietta Square) so it stinks that they don't have more to offer.
I went to a wedding at Chateau Elan and had a nice time. The wedding was on a grassy hill top overlooking the Inn and vineyards. It was very very pretty. The reception was in one of the ballrooms inside the Inn. It was nice, nothing out of the ordinary, but nice. The food was great and the wine was also. It was a great time for all the guests.
I was super impressed with Chateau Elan. I have lived in Georgia and never been and finally went a few months back and I was so impressed! The Inn is spectacular and the accommodations are great! The drive from the city is actually not very far at all but the whole place is a world away from the daily grind. The wine is pretty good and not what I expected from a Georgia winery. I would say the whole experience was very reminiscent of a wine country getaway in California. Kudos Chateau Elan!
Tiger Mountain Vineyards has some ups and downs. Unfortunately the downs include the wine. I was really put off by what I tasted. It was all tart (like suck your cheeks in tart). I couldn't really wrap my taste buds around any of it. So, I wouldn't recommend it on the wine alone. However, the people were super courteous and the place was immaculate.
I was up at a friends cabin for the weekend and she mentioned that there is a wine highway in Georgia and I couldn't believe it! The place we were staying was a click from Persimmon Creek Vineyards. We had a great time talking with the owners and tasting the wine. Bought a few bottles and enjoyed them over the weekend. I have to say I was a hesitant about how good the wine would be but I really did like it!
