People's Trust is great! Low interest rates, friendly customer service and you can feel safe having your money there. They also have a lot of options to check out like financial advisors, accountants, seminars, etc. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for something other than the big bank conglomerates!
If you're looking for a gift, then you HAVE to check out Chocolate Pizazz. So much yummier than flowers or ordinary boxed chocolates. They have so many different combinations of candy, popcorn, pretzels, marshmellow bites, and my new favorite, chocolate dipped twinkies! They'll deliver around Houston or Fed Ex anywhere else. Awesome customer service and whoever the lucky recipient is will thank you profusely! And, my advice, do, yourself a favor and buy some to keep for yourself too!
I have ordered several times for family and friends and it's always a hit. Here's an excerpt from my sister in college, who received a Chocolate Pizazz care package: "this popcorn is so amazingly delicious and it came at the most absolute perfect time! me and three other of my friends have exams tomorrow and we were just talking about how we're all going to stay up late studying together in the lounge tonight. this popcorn is going to be the perfect study fuel/don't get upset/ life is beautiful when there are such delicious things in this world!"
From the outside, you'll be wondering what the fuss is about. Looks a bit beat up and not like the yummy, upscale steakhouse that it is. We have been once for our anniversary and I can't wait to go again. The food is out of this world good. We tried the Kobe beef and it is melt in your mouth delicious. The prices are high, but the food is worth it. For a special occasion, leave the kids at home and forego the drive into Houston - go to Killen's. Spend the money you saved in gas and parking and get dessert - YUM!
As far as buffets go, this one is average. There are lots of choices, even of non-Asian foods, and this is good. The service is always great and their staff is very attentive, but in general I think that it costs too much for the quality of the food. Not my first choice.
We hae only actually been to this establishment once, and it was so smoky, we turned around and left with our 2 kids. But after rave reviews from friends, we did order some pizza to take home and they were right - it is delicious! Not sure if they still allow smoking, but if you have kids and this bothers you, you might want to call first. We have been contemplating giving it another shot...
We have eaten here twice and find it too formal to have the kids and the prices are higher than we are used to paying for Chinese food. That said, the food quality was good and we did enjoy our meal.
We have been coming to Pearland West for 2 years, since we adopted our "son" in 2006. They have always been great to deal with on the phone, it doesn't take forever to get an appointment and they are always so nice in person. They love our dog and our kids are are very pleasant. When our dog had surgery, they called 2 or 3 times to check on him after he went home. Another time, he had hurt his knee and instead of pushing us into surgery, they provided us with other good options to try. Turned out, he healed nicely without surgical intervention and we appreciated that. We've seen all the doctors and they are all great - can't go wrong here!
This store has some unique, cute items for gifts and I like to go in and browse for new ideas. I have had several things monogrammed here and never had any issues with their work, but I will agree with the previous reviewer in that their customer service is often lacking. One of their employees in particular always seems to be irritated that you are there, like you are wasting her time. If she's working, I usually browse and leave. I have found the owner to be quite pleasant though, and I usually try to place my order when she is there.
Don Picos is a mexican restaurant that is nearly always packed. I'm convinced that this is because of their $1.25 happy hour margaritas which are delicious, and their 2 for 1 fajitas special. The food and the service are both average, but sometimes you just want a couple of margaritas, chips and salsa and Don Picos fits the bill quite nicely.
