El Gran Burrito Inc
I love the taco salad at El Gran Burrito. But that doesn't mean the rest isn't good! It's all great Mexican food, what you would expect to find. You can eat there or take it home. It's a small place but has a nice atmosphere, looking much like a Spanish courtyard inside. Good prices, too.
Joey's Brooklyn Bagelry
I really like Joey's Brooklyn Bagelry. The bagels are just the way I like them--somewhat crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. You can purchase different kinds of bagels to take home or eat there, a bagel with cream cheese and lox, or bagel sandwiches. They also have a delicious collection of fancy desserts/pastries. Much, much better than the bagels one buys at the grocery store.
Garduno's Mexican Food
Garduno's is a tiny little restaurant where you order at the counter and then seat yourself. But the food is wonderful! I've had the cheese enchiladas and the taco salad, which were great. They also have a small salsa bar and drinks. The prices are very good and it's a great place to eat. No ambiance, just really good Mexican food with a large menu.
Pizzamania
Pizzamania's dining area is very open and relaxed with TV's in every corner. The food is good, not great, but how can you mess up pizza? I think the big draw really is the open, fun atmosphere, especially when it's crowded.
El Camino Restaurant
I've been to El Camino very many times for lunch. The food is always outstanding and very reasonably priced. My favorites are the chili verde oven style burrito, the carnes asada nachos, and the tostado in a flour shell. They also have a huge breakfast menu, American and Mexican. It's a small restaurant and usually fills up at lunch time. The staff is very friendly and they decorate for most holidays, American or Mexican. So if you want really good Mexican food at reasonable prices, try El Camino!
Wholesale Feed
I've had the opportunity to use several feed stores in the area and settled on Wholesale Feed. The prices are comparable, they deliver, the staff is really nice, and they seem to really care for the animals in the store. Delivery is on time, and they'll even deliver on Sunday's. They're quite accommodating when delivering--they will unload certain items into the garage and move the truck to the back yard to deliver the bales, stacking it nicely. It's certainly a lot easier than when I did it myself!
El Colima
El Colima is a simple drive-thru but they have delicious Mexican food. All the standards--burritos, tacos, etc. Sometimes you can wait for a while, even if you're the only one in the drive-thru, but the food is well worth the wait. Especially good Mexican food at good prices.
De Garcia's A Mexican Rstrnt
I love Mexican food but have to admit not every restaurant can pull it off in a satisfying way. But Garcia's has really great food, from their main courses down to their salads. The prices were reasonable, the atmosphere quiet and we really had a nice time there. Have been there several times, in fact.
City Automotive
I took my trucks to City Automotive off and on for several years and my parents also go there. Jerry is a great mechanic who will go out of his way to help out, even beyond auto care! His prices are reasonable and I truly trust him not to take advantage of a female, which I've run into at some other places. A great place to take your car!
La Sierra Veterinary Clinic
La Sierra not only sees the usual round of dogs and cats but also more exotic animals, such as rats and ferrets. I especially love Dr. Laura Schrader. She is a quiet, gentle spirit who has great compassion, not only for the animals in her care, but for the owners also. She especially loves rats and I have brought several of mine to her, not only for treatment but also for euthanasia when it was called for. I know some vets will put a rat down simply by injecting them in the heart, and they'll tell you they don't feel a thing. Dr. Schrader will first anesthetize them and then euthanize them, so the process really is completely painlessl. Even rats have feelings, and Dr. Schrader provides tender loving care for them and any other animal I've brought to her.
