Love to come here for birthday cakes and cakes for special occasions. Beautifully crafted cakes and other asian delicacies and buns. Medium sized cakes usually run in the range of about $16-24 depending on flavor and whether there is fresh fruit. Love the custard fruit cakes!
We tried this travel agency for our honeymoon to Hawaii in 2005 and the experience from what I recall seemed satisfactory enough. We decided to try them again in 2007 for another Hawaiian vacation with a group of friends. We didn't realize that although we had asked for the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach hotel, we were booked at the regular Outrigger Waikiki Resort. To be fair, it was also our mistake that we did not catch it earlier until it was too late to change without incurring additional expenses.
My friend who went on this same vacation with us in 2007 (and paid by credit card) later noticed charges for another trip she did not reserve/book charged to her credit card by the same travel agency. She disputed the charges with her credit card company which were eventually removed. Whether this was an honest mistake or a case of too much confidential information being left around is enough grounds for me to not come back.
I opened a savings account here about 8 years ago because they offered low rate car loans and wanted to finance my car through them. Since paying off the car, my savings account is still active (although now used as a secondary account).
The interest is nothing to really boast about, but this account is for convenience in location and allows me to make deposits to my other credit union without having to travel the distance.
Always have had good customer service here.
I absolutely love this credit union. Was referred by my sister-in-law who works right next door at Lockheed Martin. Back then you needed a referral from Santa Clara companies to join this credit union, now it's basically open to all. The service has always been stellar and the interest is one of the highest I've seen. Previously at 4%. Great for savings!
I believe they've just changed names and location, but Sophia is still there. She is the main person to deal with the contracts, booking, etc. and is the hair and makeup artist.
It's been 4 years since I took my pictures so I can only imagine they've gotten more creative with poses, scenery, and print methods??? At the time, they were the best Asian style studio in my opinion for their price. Even after frequenting the photo studios in LA, I opted to go with Sophia's.
I love the way my pictures came out and have received many compliments and have had more than 3 people ask me about my pictures actually go there.
The photographer speaks mainly Taiwanese though so you can get a little confused at times at what he wants you to do, but for the most part self explanatory enough.
As with all places, be specific as to what you are looking for if you already have a vision in mind of what you want and ask a lot of questions to be sure they can deliver what you are looking for.
Sophia's also outsources video and actual wedding day photography services. We were shown (and eventually booked) video services by an American videographer only to find out 2 weeks before the wedding that he had moved to LA sometime after we reserved him and that someone else would be filming our wedding. This is my main complaint! Since these arrangements are usually made months to a year in advance, be wary if you outsource any of these services and if you do, make sure to put the person's name in writing so you are covered.
So, I give Sophia's 4 stars for their photos and 3 for my overall experience with them.
I would have to say this is the best Thai food in the bay area. Not overly priced and with decent portions. Favorites are the joon pad poo crab noodles, garlic shrimp, and tofu khee mao. Everything is delicious though and the service is pretty fast considering how crowded this place gets! Save room for dessert too if you can!
They have their own dedicated parking lot, but only accommodates about 25 cars or so...
Nice place to bowl, but can get pretty pricey on the weekends. Has a Dave & Buster feel to it with the bar, lounge area, and games.
If you're looking more to lounge and have a few drinks, I would recommend going somewhere else. I came here once for my husband's birthday with a group of friends and had a sour experience at the bar. I'm a very light drinker and can usually taste the slightest bit of alcohol when others can't taste it all. I ordered a midori sour and it was just really too sweet without the slightest trace of alcohol. I asked if they could do something about the sweetness because it was really undrinkable. The bartender and manager absolutely refused to do anything and were really rude about it too. My other friends' drinks were watered down as well.
I was referred here in 2002 by my former boss with claims that they were ahead of their time in technology and with a very thorough and friendly staff. I came in and was thoroughly impressed and after a few visits referred my husband to them as well.
They seem to charge a little higher than other places probably based on the fact that they are located in Willow Glen, but worth the money.
They do a wonderful job of keeping up to date with you professionally and personally and have great follow-up. Most consistent dental visits I've ever had.
You're greeted at the front desk, wait a few minutes at most, and then are given a quick evaluation to see if there are any changes/discomfort, etc. before your technician proceeds to clean your teeth while you watch tv on the LCD above your chair.
Dr. Uyesugi comes in, reviews your records, and does a physical check as well. Schedule your next appt. and off you go with goodie bag in hand - convenient for leaving at the office for a nice after lunch fresher-upper.
My usual dental technician Mabel was the BEST! I found out since my last 6 month checkup Mabel had left and had a temp clean my teeth instead. First experience with a temp the 6 years I've been here...
I honestly expected a little more from this place... I came here during lunch on a Friday with 3 other people. The food was mediocre for its price and there actually wasn't a lot to choose from. The service was also mediocre at best given that there were three visible waitresses and only two other small groups there. Not rude, but not very friendly either.
My husband had a drink... believe it might have been a lychee martini which was actually pretty good. I'd probably only come back for drinks and to enjoy the outdoor dining.
On weekends, they have live music which is nice from afar, but can get pretty loud and distracting within the segregated patio area if you're looking for intimate conversation.
The sushi is probably only worthy of 3.5 stars and just slightly on the pricier side, but not such that it would prevent me from coming back. I give it 4 stars for the ambiance and service. I love the decor which reminds me of something you would see/experience at lush Santana Row.
They have copious amounts of seating, a sushi bar, 2 segregated seating areas perfect for birthday dinners or just a small get-together and even a dedicated alcohol bar.
My sister had her bday dinner here with about 25 people and because they had to wait a little longer to be seated, they provided us with a few appetizers and chocolate cake for dessert... on the house. They even gave my sister a $50 gift card for her bday and probably to thank her for the business!!!!
Must try the "Korean" style beef dish... my friend ordered it and it came with a few unlimited sides. Great value!
