A good friend of mine restores Mustangs and had mentioned at one point that he was always driving out to Mustangs Unlimited to get parts. Since his birthday was coming up, I decided to get him a gift card from the store as a gift.
I called the store, and they were helpful on the phone, giving me the hours. I explained that I intended to come get a gift card, and they went over everything I'd need. When I finally got there, the process was quick and painless, and they didn't treat me as an inferior because I'm female.
The place has plenty of parking and is easy to find.
I needed some digital photos printed at 11x14's, and found "Photo Images" by doing a search online. I've never printed any digital images that large, and wasn't sure what to expect. I was pleasantly suprised by the whole experience.
I spoke with them (I think the owner's name is Ed?) on the phone and was told to just come in. I stopped by, and they helped me format the photos, and very nice, good quality prints were ready a few days later.
They were professional, friendly, and affordable. I would highly recommend them.
Brad and Linda know their stuff. They do first class work with problem donkeys, and have a great 4h program.
I went to them for help finishing a pony to drive, and with their guidance, we had the little guy hooked to a cart in no time I highly recommend them to anyone.
The barn is old, but the farm is gorgeous. Their prices are extremely reasonable.
I absolutely love this place - the service is the best around. Little Hooves has a wide selection for a small operation, and most importantly if they don't have it, they're willing to order.
The owner is friendly, and always goes above and beyond. The prices are anywhere from "reasonable" to "a great deal". I have no complaints, and recommend them to anyone!
EG Simson is a wonderful photographer, and an exceptional woman. She's a passionate horse lover, drove all the way from Weston to East Granby to help my equine rescue with fundraising.
She was knowledgeable about her craft, and was willing to try various things to get the right shots. I was impressed all around by her. I will absolutely recommend her to anyone looking to get portraits of their horses.
Black Bear is a brand new bar in Hartford, and I'd say they're top notch. I went there for a birthday pub crawl, and was pleasantly suprised. The place is huge, and despite that, it was packed.
Unfortunately, I was the driver that night, so I only had water - I do not know how the prices run.
On the plus side, the inside is all wood paneling, which helped the live band that night sound very rich. They had a neat little set up for the band in the center of the bar with a raised stage and a large floor area for dancing. You could easily hear the band from anywhere in the bar.
I enjoyed myself, and I'll go back.
I think of All Stars as the bar to go to when I don't feel like driving to Hartford. I went there for a friend's birthday, and the place was packed. The crowd was on the young side, but on the plus side, they had a live band playing.
The drink prices were decent. I would go back.
Pigs Eye is a great bar with a relaxed atmosphere. There is always music going - not always live music, but something is always on in the background. There are a few pool tables which usually have a wait, and plenty of room to move around. The patio is always packed, unless its mid-winter.
I thnk the drinks are well-priced, and the staff has been great when I've gone. I'll go back.
I went to Hunters Run a few months ago to work with my trainer - at the time she was boarding there. The facility is small, but serviceable. The indoor is very nice - I especially like the permanent fancing to keep horses where they belong....inside the ring!
The stable was well kept and clean, though I wish the turnout was a little nicer.
The staff there was very friendly. I'd recommend them to anyone in the area.
I'll occassionally go to Harvards for the open mic night, or to meet up with friends after work. The service has always been wonderful!
The food is good, though I wish they had more vegetarian food. They had a delicious veggie burger with sauteed mushrooms that they recently took off of the menu.
The place is very conveniently located, right off the highway with lots of parking. The prices are decent.
