The Albemarle Sweet Shop is my favorite bakery in North Carolina! From fresh cookies to delicious cakes, they have the best sweets in town. I especially love their cookies with icing, and I'm not even a fan of cookies with icing at other bakeries. Their service is great and turn around for custom orders is fast. I highly recommend them!
We took our english bulldog for a checkup and shots once and we were not impressed with the vet. We were very rushed, and I did not like the way he handled my presious "little girl." On the other hand, we did continue to board her there and she seemed to love it. The prices for boarding are average for the Hilton Head area.
I love the wide range of food choices on their menu! I never eat in because it's always very crowded most times of the day and I can never find an empty table, and I don't like shouting to my lunch companions. I highly recommend them for take out lunches, although it can be hard to find a parking spot at times. They also have a great little salad buffet.
I always get my lunch to go from Rising High because it's always crowded and loud. The food is good but nothing to get excited over. I do love their paninis, and their cookies are baked fresh. I'm not a big fan of their pasta...it has one of those lingering after tastes. The services is also average.
Moe's Crosstown Tavern looks like a shady place but it's actually very good! It's a sports bar-type place with a mixed crowd of students, locals, and professionals. They are open for lunch and offer a wide selection on the menu. The service is good. Our office staff will take lunch breaks at Moe's at least once a week.
For those who love fried seafood this is the place to go. They're a little pricey, but certainly not unrealistic. The service is okay but I've noticed it's much better when the owner is around. I recommend them but they're not top on my list when I recommend places to eat out.
Long Point Pharmacy is like your hometown pharmacy. It's family owned and their staff is exceptionally friendly. Most of them know me by name and are always asking about my husband and baby. The service is quick and only once in one year that I've been going did I have to wait more than a few minutes, and that was because they had to leave the store and go get what I needed! Talk about first-class service.
I cannot say enough bad things about this dental practice. During my first visit I was told I had four cavaties. After they worked on two of the cavaties, one of my fillings was very painful after a week. I was told I was having a bad reaction to it and they needed to take it out and replace it with another. My tooth still hurt with the new filling so they went back in and THEN discovered there was a crack! So he put a crown on that tooth. The crown they put on that tooth was so poorly done that I now have to have another crown put on, and my new dentist showed me some places on that tooth that were damaged during all that unnecessary work that was done (will most likely have to have a root canal on that tooth as well thanks to Morrison Dental). Also, during my initial visit I complained about a back molar that was giving me a hard time and they said no worries...just a little exposed root from when my wisdom teeth were taken out. Oh no, my new dentist tells me there is a huge cavity there and I may have to have a root canal that could have been prevented had the dentists at Morrison caugt it TWO YEARS AGO! As for the other cavaties they filled, those were also poorly done and I'm having to have them refilled. In all, the bad work they did two years ago is now costing me almost FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS. I am in the process of turning them into the dental association!
The team at Park West Dentistry is extremely professional but still fun, friendly and caring. The atmosphere is spa-like and very relaxing. The entire team is well trained, and they ALL receive ongoing training. It's the small things that make a big difference to me. One example is that they constantly put lip balm on my lips while working on my teeth. I no longer leave the dentist with dry, cracked lips!! I also like the way they explain EVERYTHING and they take digital pictures of EVERY TOOTH. Their prices are higher than average but they do offer payment plans which has been my lifesaver!
We had a terrible time with the first pool company we contracted with to do our pool maintenance. While we were trying to figure out what to do, the young man who represents Crystal Pools in the Charleston area kept stopping by our house once or twice a week with his sales pitch...very persistant! After the last straw with the bad company we decided to bite the bullet and give Crystal Pools a try. We love them! Derrick comes out once a week ON SCHEDULE (the problem we had with the other company) and does twice the amount of work as the other company. His prices are average and customer service well above average!
