Mama D's Italy Kitchen
Mama D's is a nice small scale and casual Italian restaurant. The calzones are really good here! Stuffed with ricotta and mozarella cheese! Thery have a "lite" menu, Salads, excellent baked dishes (you have to wait a little longer for these),
Seafood dishes are offered as well. Mama D raised a family for 38 years cooking for her husband and 7 children in New York Now that's experience!
Pricing is moderate at this restaurant, but the quality is top notch.
Space Needle
The Space Needle restaurant in Seattel is a must! Its very pricey but the admission to the observation deck is free when dining at the restaurant.
Everything on the menu is ala carte. We were fortunate to enjoy prime rib special for two that included a salad and side. The lunar orbitor dessert has been served there since 1965. Its and ice cream sundae that fogs up around the edges. FUN! the restaurant rotates 360 degrees and you can enjoy a view of the city!
Newport Driving School
Newport Driving School has been very helpful in teaching our kids to drive. My daughter went to the classes, but my son was able to take the classes online. The business is family owned and send mature and caring instructors out for behind-the- wheel. They will also pick up your student from home or school. Both kids passed the test the first time! The instructors make it a point to take your student on the DMV test routes so that they can point out things they need to watch for.

Dr. Holevas is good urologist with a friendly staff. You can usually get an appointment within a couple of days, not weeks! Dr. Holevas takes the time to listen to his patients and them explains their problem and treatment iin detail . Treatment is effective, eliminating the need for many visits.
Hunter Hall's Haberdashery
Hunter Hall's is a vey nice women's clothing store in Big Bear Lake Village. They always have unique items -complete outfits, sweaters, accessories and jewelry.
I found a very nice silver watch made out of a silver spoon! Alot of the jewelry is hand made by local artists. I can always find a one of a kind sweater in their store. The staff is very friendly and you feel welcome to just come in and browse.
Deckers Collectibles
Decker's is a very friendly store to shop in. They offer a wide variety of collectables- Disney, Wee Forest Folk, Swaroski and Anna Lee to name a few. Often they will carry limited edition items. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Its always a treat to visit their store without any pressure-You are welsome to look around. Seasonal items such as Christmas and Halloween are offered year round.
In the days of the italian charm fad, they were the place to go. Decker's has excellent buyers and keeps up with the latest collectable merchandise.
Shirley's Heart
Shirley's Heart is a great little store on Balboa Island specializing in unique gift and decorating ideas. The store has a wide variety of Merchandise-pillows, quilts, seasonal decorations and other items for the home. The merchandise has a more "hand crafted" look to it. If you are looking for a unique gift for someone, visit Shirley's Heart. They also have a variety of flags.
Air Faire Balloon Decorating
Air Faire is a very experienced balloon decorating company. They can do everything from a small party, high school proms on up to major corporate events.
The owners, Fred and Judy are certified balloon decorators(CBA) They have gone through the proper training in order to interface with other balloon artists across the country. The designs are colorful and unique and competitive with todays market. If theres a school dance, bar mitzvah, corporate event, or any other special occassion, call Air Faire.
Tischler, Alexander H, Md - Newport Orthopedic Institute
Dr. Tischler helped me through a very tough time with my ankle last year. I had Tenosynovitis is my ankle (very inflamed tendon) He was very conservative in his approach. A cortisone injection was out of the question because he said it could rupture the tendon. He suggested eventual surgery but did not insist on it. I had casts and braces and other measures to calm the injury down. After time and his encouragement I finally got better. Its nice to have a doctor thats not "surgery happy" Dr. Tischler has also been the team doctor for a local high school football team. Hes a straight talker, no nonesence kind of doctor.
Young Seconds
Young Seconds is a great place to find good quality dressy clothing for children. If your child is in Cotillion, this the place to visit first. They have alot of "gently used" dresses, blazers, and dress slacks. My son grew so fast that it seemed like every year I would drop off some clothes for consigment and pick up some thing new that was needed. I have found some pretty cool Reyn Spooner shirts for boys as well.
