Dr. Paccione has been my ophthalmologist for four years, and of my son for the past two years. He comes across as a very knowledgeable, experienced and considerate doctor in the way he explains your problem and the treatment options. Once in a follow-up check after an eye injury my son suffered, a young doctor at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital recommended a laser operation on the spot "just to be an a safe side." I called Dr. Paccione right there to ask for his advice and was given an appointment on the following morning. It turned out that what my son had was a rather common condition, unrelated to the injury, and required no operation.
This store used to be my solution to fill the gap between GAP and Modell's for my boys' active wear before they found their own identity. Even now that they expanded their shopping territory, I still rely on this store for a last minute shopping of basic items, as they have a full basement of teenage boy section, including an array of formal suits. They carry many items from brands such as Quicksilver, Billabong and Nike. As far as the service goes, there are a few helpful sales persons but many have an attitude.
After two decades of not driving (and never in Manhattan) after my out-of-state license expired, I needed to get a license - QUICK! I dropped in this tiny second floor office one afternoon, and they recommended me a package of mandatory half-day pre-license class and 7 hour driving lessons. I had my licence in my hand in a month and a half. It worked for me, but I'm not sure about the quality for those starting out from scratch. The instructor was friendly and not intimidating, but he overslept for one of the lessons.
Although this place sometimes gets crowded, they work very efficiently and I don't remember ever waiting for more than 10 minutes. Also, because this Lab is equipped to perform a wide variety of radiological tests, with a careful advance planning you can be done with a number of tests in one afternoon.
This mid-town Chinese restaurant offers outstanding overall value with its wide variety of menu selection, well executed food and reasonable price. It is a great place to visit as a family or a large group of friends so you can order many different dishes. Only drawback is their service which is lackluster at best, but overall I highly recommend this place. No alcohol and no Credit Card, so bring your own wine and wallet.
It is not very easy to find a toy store that is not too fancy or too high tech, that offers a variety of old fashioned toys in the Upper East. I also hate to shop at mega toy stores such as Toy'R Us and FAO Schwartz. That why I was glad when I found this small neighborhood toy store. While it is very plain in appearance, it offers an amazing variety of toys and boardgames for kids of any age group that will also fit many kinds of budget.
This restaurant on lower Park Avenue is not big, but very comfortable with very French atmosphere. "Cozy" is the word. The food is traditional and everything that I've ever tried tasted good.Dining here will make your special occasion even more special. But keep it to that, since it is as pricy as you would expect for any good French restaurant.
Located right in the heart of West Village, this is a French restaurant of casual sort. Its small corner space is crowded with proportionately small tables, its food simple and basic, not much cream and sauce that you might expect from French cuisine. It is supposed to be one of those cheap-chic, quintessentially Village restaurants, but I wouldn't recommend it if you are looking for a relaxing dining experience. No reservation, cash only and, don't forget to bring own wine.
I was referred to Dr. Motaghedi by our pediatrician and I have been absolutely, completely satisfied with the way my children are cared for. She takes time to explain the diagnosis and patiently responds to all your questions and concerns. The only complaint is that as a specialist her officer hours are limited and usually when schools are in session.
We have been patronizing their service since we moved into the neighborhood six years ago. Our clothes get cleaned and delivered to our building usually a few days after we drop them off (they have our credit card number on file.) One time a load of garments, including some of mine, got stolen during the course of delivery. They sent me a claim form to fill out, and I got a check for the full estimated cost of the lost items within weeks! Another pleasant surprise: a couple of our clothes came back with tears mended without any charge (we did not even mention it.)
