I live on East Colfax and frequently eat take out at the China Star. The food is always fresh and the service is very prompt and dependable. One of the neatest things about the China Star is the fact that it is open until 10:00 on weekdays.
the Isle of Singapore is located on University near DU. The food here is a Singapore variant of standard Chinese food. It is some of the most flavorful I have tasted. I ordered their version of Kung Pao chicken and found it spicier than that I usually get from standard Chinese. The service was excellent and friendly. I recommend this restaurant highly.
I live pretty close to this restaurant and like to hit their noon buffet two or three times a month. The food is great and the atmosphere is quiet making for an enjoyable meal.
Yuan Palace was the first and one of the best Mongolian barbecue restaurants I have found. The selection of fresh ingredients including a selection of meats and vegetables to add to your bowl is extensive. There is a choice of one bowl or an all you can eat option is available at a greater price. I highly recommend that you get there early in the evenings as this is a very popular restaurant.
I have eaten here recently and I can tell you with a straight face that I would return just for the Friday buffet. For just under eight dollars you get a really nice buffet including seafood and beef entrees as well as a great show on the five stages in the buffet area.
Service was great and the dancers were beautiful and friendly. I would recommend it any day but especially on Fridays.
The restaurant sits right on the Mall. It sports a well stocked bar and a varied and sophisticated if limited menu. I and my wife both had an enjoyable meal and several drinks. We were most impressed with the atmosphere which seemed just right.
Damon's specializes in great barbecue and bar food at really reasonable prices. I had a terrific burger the last time I visited. The service is good and the atmosphere is a cut above your average sports bar.
Great dive bar atmosphere. Friday night is fish fry night with a dj doing karaoke. Prices are low and the crowd is full of talent. Other menu items are standard bar fare. Recommend it for a low cost Friday night out.
Thai Hiep primarily serves Thai food along with some Vietnamese dishes. The food is blander than most Thai but is still quite delicious. Their family meal is a great value including some really wonderful side dishes and appetizers in their version o the Pu Pu platter. I highly recommend Thai Hiep.
This restaurant is on the site of the old IHOP on Colfax. It has retained much of the character and menu of that restaurant with an emphasis on well prepared breakfast fare and menus for lunch and dinner stocked with comfort food. The service was excellent with staff repeatedly checking on our parties' drinks.
