A skilled diagnostician and caring vet who is highly recommended. Peter Conserva cares as much about people as he does about horses. He takes the time to explain his diagnostic steps and thought processes, answers questions, and follows up. When my horse had a life-threatening emergency this summer, he went above and beyond the call of duty to help us out. He maintained a calm, caring, and professional demeanor through the ordeal. My horse owes him his life!
A great addition to the Japanese restaurants in central CT if you're looking to try a new place. The preparation and presentation is superb. They offer a variety of hot and cold dishes and specialty maki. They recently got their liquor license but i recommend bringing a bottle of your own favorite because the booze selection is limited.
After a long day on the road we were lucky to stumble upon the Hitching Post Inn and the Cheyenne Cattle Company. The ambiance was comfortable and relaxing, with great big tables and chairs and cowboy-western decor. A hunk of cheesy bread was served on a wooden cutting board with a big steak knife and cheese-herb spread, which was fun and different for us Yanks! We were excited to try the buffalo steak but they were out. They were also out of the Ribeye. I mean, if you're a steakhouse, shouldn't you have enough steaks stocked since that's your specialty? My husband settled on a T-bone and I had the fish. It was well prepared and very tasty, but maybe that was just the wine talking...
We had the pleasure of dining at Running Bear on our summer trip to Yellowstone. It was a great way to start a long day in the park. The pancakes were some of the best I've ever had! Fluffy and light and very tasty.
We recently purchased a used truck from Lee's Auto Ranch and were very happy with the auto quality and service. The truck was in great condition and priced extremely competitively. The sale went smoothly and the service department, who mounted a plow frame for us, was knowledgeable and completed the work nicely and in a timely fashion. Our sales associate was friendly without being fake or pushy, which we appreciated. My only complaints are that the whole theme of the place is kind of corny (it's decorated like a ranch, complete with fake farm animals.) Plus the owner was not present at the time of the sale and was needed to complete some paperwork, so we had to wait quite a while for him to arrive.
A very nice Italian dining experience. The atmosphere was casual yet classy, definitely a step up from a chain Italian place. We had the white chicken pizza, and it was prepared wonderfully - flavorful yet not overpowering in any one area (most places put too much garlic on a white pizza). The martinis were prepared nicely as well. And the prices were great!
You probably won't notice Kelly's Kitchen on your way through downtown Winchester. But if you know where to look, you are in for a treat. We went for breakfast last week on a friend's suggestion. Kelly's prepares their own breads, scones, muffins, and other baked goods. Kelly's also makes a "french toast of the day" which is made of any of their homemade baked goods - for example, White Chocolate Scone French Toast! Breakfast is served with homemade raspberry jam, and tea orders come in a gigantic soup mug. The prices are great, the food is exceptional, and the place has a nice cozy "towny" feel.
The Trumbull Kitchen is a great place for both a fun night out with friends, or a classy date. The menu and decor and both fresh, modern, and inventive. The menu includes an array of tapas, which is their specialty. Salads, soups, and a few full entrees are also offered. The bar is exceptional with a vast variety of unusual and delicious martinis (I recommend the Blueberry Basil!) You may have to wait for seating, and parking can be difficult on a busy night. But it's worth it!
If you are looking for perfectly prepared Indian cuisine, look no further. The food preparation and attention to detail is excellent. I recommend the vegetable samosa and chicken tikka masala. I have always ordered take-out from Taste of India Windsor, so I cannot speak to the service and dining in-house. However, my phone orders have always been prepared accurately, and the take-out service has been attentive and friendly, which makes a difference (even over the phone!)
The Windsor 75 is a wonderful family-run business! My husband and I went there every Sunday for 4 years until we moved out of town. The staff is wonderfully attentive and accommodating, the food is always hot and well-prepared, and the seating area is very clean. The menu is a typical expansive diner menu, with the bonus of home-made muffins. They also offer patio dining in the good weather. Highly recommended!
