While a number of local retailers carry Acme breads, a visit to the bakery is well worthwhile. Acme offers a wide range of delicious artisan breads made with organic flour. Their croissants are the best outside of France - so buttery and flaky - don't try to eat them in the car on the way home or you will be covered in crumbs. Also available in the Ferry Building Marketplace in San Francisco, this is Acme's flagship location.

We've been taking our cars to autohaus for years and are completely satisfied with the service. The staff is friendly, and their work is always professional. I never worry about being taken advantage of - they always give me an honest opinion of what work is needed, and show me the parts they've replaced when they finish.
Baywood Court Retirement Comm
This friendly retirement community in Castro Valley offers independent and assisted living. The staff is friendly and professional and the buildings and grounds are spotless and well-maintained. My mom moved in three years ago and has made many friends. Baywood offers numerous activities including exercise classes, movies, excursions, lectures, etc. They offer shuttle service for shopping, errands and doctor appointments. Rent includes meals and weekly house-keeping. All things considered, prices are pretty reasonable.
Giocomo Furniture
A neighbor recommended Giacomo when I wanted to reupholster two antique chairs. Although these projects weren't inexpensive the experience was excellent. Nazila has a fabulous eye for color and pattern, and really helped me realize my goal of turning two old-fashioned chairs into modern focal points for the living room of my contemporary home. The fabrics she offers are amazing, and she is so friendly, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and professional that I can't say enough good things about her. The chairs turned out amazing - and everyone comments on how awesome they look.
Barrett Woodworking
We literally stumbled on Barrett Woodworking (heard the power equipment) when we were on our way somewhere else. We had Dave build a custom cherry built-in cabinet/entertainment center in our family room and we are thrilled with the results. Dave is a joy to work with - honest, easy going, does what he says he'll do, and delivers as promised. We will be contacting him soon for another project in the dining room.
Barbara Anderson Gallery
An artist from whom we purchased a large painting recommended Barbara Anderson for framing and we were thrilled with the results. She and her assistant did an amazing job, with very quick turn-around. She even found someone to transport the completed, and now large and unwieldy, artwork home. We will definitely be giving Barbara repeat business.

The Body Mind and Spirit Massage Therapy Center at Claremont and College is a fabulous place for massage. With 25 excellent therapists, it is often possible to get in for a same-day appointment. I favor deep tissue massage, and all of the therapists I've had are excellent. With advance booking, it is sometimes even possible to book a two-hour massage (PURE BLISS) - and for about the same price, if not less, than a famous nearby spa!
Farley Bar
Farley Bar at Cavallo Point Resort in Sausalito is a great place to relax after hiking the Marin Headlands or biking over from the city. In addition to the comfy leather chairs inside, there is a great deck perfect for a sunny afternoon. The small plates make a perfect light meal, and are also great for sharing. The burger is yummy, and the wood grilled peaches with prosciutto are divine. Our party also shared crab cakes and the frito misto of local fish and shellfish. Like the Murray Circle Restaurant at Cavallo Point, Farley Bar features the freshest seasonal ingredients and local culinary products.
Murray Circle Restaurant
This relative newcomer to the Sausalito dining scene is a great addition. Located in the eco-friendly Cavallo Point Resort at Fort Baker in Sausalito, the restaurant serves delicious food in a laid-back setting at the base of the Golden Gate Bridge. We enjoyed a great brunch on the sunny deck looking back toward San Francisco. In addition to the restaurant and bar, the resort also offers cooking classes and corporate events.
