This is your typical Irish bar. They show lots of sports, so it's good for that. They have a huge selection of beer and generally friendly staff. Good for big groups.
L'Occitane products are the best, and this small store in Union Station is convenient to get to (right off of the red line), and generally well stocked. The same person is usually there when I go, and he's always very friendly and helpful.
I love Aveda products, and this is a nice, well-stocked store to pick them up. The staff is a wee bit indifferent toward customers though. I can't speak to their hair styling services, though. Those people might be friendlier.
I've been to 15 ria a couple of times for drinks - nowhere does it look like you could sit down and have a meal. If anything, they might serve bar food. It's a pretty lame bar though, often pretty empty. The service is so-so; same with the prices. There are a lot of better bars in the area.
The atmosphere at Tosca is very nice and high class, and the prices reflect that, but the food doesn't really live up to it. It's not bad, but I expected better. The service is excellent.
Tabaq serves a large variety of tapas. It's a bit expensive, but the food is pretty good. They also have a good brunch. The main dining room is an enclosed rooftop, which has a great view of the city. The service is usually pretty good.
The space and atmosphere is very nice, but the food is only OK and a bit overpriced for what you get. They have typical entrees, but also a large selection of tapas. The bar is large. I was there on a Friday recently, and was somewhat shocked when the restaurant was basically cleared out and turned into a club full of kids 10 years my junior.
Marvin has terrific food - sort of a mix of soul and Belgian. Strange, but it works. The Marvin burger is the best I've ever had. It can get quite loud, and the wait is often long, so make reservations. The rooftop bar is great - and very crowded - in the summer. It's always really crowded, so be prepared to wait to get in, even just to go to the bar. As much as I like the place, I'm not willing to wait outside for half an hour just to get a drink, so I'll stick to dinner.
Bardeo the wine bar sister to Ardeo, the Italian restaurant right next store. It has a fantastic wine list, great service, and good prices. Great for a sophisticated night out.
Ardeo provides a very pleasant dining experience. The interior is very nice and sophisticated, despite being in what is, for lack of a better description, the urban version of a strip mall. The service is excellent and the food is great. The prices are decent for the quality you get. They have a great roof top that's a nice place to eat in the summer.
