LMFAO, this school is a joke. The education is horrible. I didn't learn a single thing when I attended (which was two years). Thank GOD I left during 11th grade or I would have not received my credits in the core classes that I needed to graduate (the school counselor told me that I didn't need them!). Since I left Kearny I graduated during the beginning of my senior year; I obviously did pretty well on my own (I started independent study). Kearny is OK... I suppose. Diversity? There isn't much. Everyone is either Mexican or Vietnamese with a few Blacks or Caucasian kids sprinkled around here and there. The school doesn't even celebrate African-American history month! The atrocity. Luckily, I told one of the few girls that moved from North Carolina who probably organized the first African-American history month celebration that Kearny has seen probably since the slaves were freed. Anne Frank? The majority of them has never even read her diary. This school is lacking in a lot of things. The school is extremely poor regardless if Bill Gates or Oprah Winfrey are the main people that fund Kearny (I believe that the four schools was their project?). The library, for an example is so poor that we often had to reuse paper, turn it over and print out our homework because the school couldn't afford new paper! Maybe I am being biased... or maybe it is because of my superior education that I on the east coast, but this school will definitely make you dumb. The majority of the kids can't even point out Cuba on a map! I slept during the entire time of my attendance. I do not think that I ever did a piece of homework or didn't half-ass me way through things. And I had a 3.5 average!
Do not even get me started on the retardation that they call the four schools. The point of being a teenager is discovering who you are and what you want to become when you grow up. So, you made a mistake of enrolling into the science school... guess what? Do you know how difficult or nearly impossible it is to get a class in say, construction? When you pick a school, you better make sure that it's the school that you want.
It's your decision. I left and took my education into my own hands. Where am I now? I got accepted into universities in Europe (mainly Palacky University in Olomouc, Czech Republic) and I will be teaching English in Madrid, Spain next January. Afterward, off to South Korea.
Do I regret my decision? To hell I don't! Your kid is better off at Twain.
