This is a great little market located in the Park Hill neighborhood. We stop by often on the way home from work for spaghetti sauce. The marinara sauce is fantastic, and they also have the one made with green olives (I don't know how to spell it) which I love. They sell everyday stuff as well, but I go for the Italian sauces.
This place is the best! they have fresh pasta, dough, pastries, and more. The spaghetti is good but the lasagna is better. On both the sauce was perfect! I also got some dry salami and some soppressata, cookies, and a chocolate Bavarian creme cannoli. The deli was pretty cheap, but the groceries aren't so cheap.
I love going to Bonnie Brea Tavern for lunch, it's like stepping back in time! Food is classic. The menu has everything from meat loaf to spaghetti and meatballs to crispy-crust pizza comes with tangy sauce and fresh toppings, and the sufficiently greasy burgers taste even better when washed down with a beer. It has been a neighborhood, family run restaurant since 1934.
Ah...Moe's Bagels! They're fresh, they're chewy, they're the best. They have almost any kind of bagel you could want, and the best sandwich toppings to boot. One of my favorites is the tuna. I have been going here for years for my bagels, and interestingly enough for a wedding brunch I catered, the bride wanted to serve food from here. That an endorsement!
Abo's is the best place for pizza in the city! From the moment you walk in the door, you are greated with the smells of traditional Italian cooking. They have great lasgne and meatball sandwiches. The pizza is cooked to order, so be prepared to wait a bit. The crust is crispy, the ingredients fresh.
Benny's is a good place to take the family for Mexican food. Though the atmosphere is a little dark and crowded, they do have good food. The chicken taco has cubes of chicken, though I would prefer a pulled type and more moist. The crispy relleno is flour tortilla wrapped around a canned green chile. The green carne asada pork over the top is tasty and I think based on the sauce it could make a good burrito. The salsa was good and the chips were fresh and warm. They have Margarita's for $5 may be hard to beat.
Tool King has just about everything you can think of! They have a huge warehouse full of everything! I was very pleased with the air compressor and cherry picker I got from there, and they have had many of the small, special hand tools I've needed.
The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful.
I love this coffee!! The best is the White Night Espresso. Though the ambiance of the place isn't the best the coffee more than makes up for the bland almost sterile atmosphere. They do have wireless access so you can do what you need to while you enjoy the coffee.
I love the food at Little Shanghai! The hot tea and water were brought out right away, and the wontons were crispy and light. The sweet and sour sauce is great, and one of my favorites is Chinese hot mustard! The brown rice is an option and he egg drop soup is fantastic. The service is nice and quick. The fortune cookies come with a dab of white chocolate on them.
I happened to go into Eron Johnson's when I was trying to price some antique maps I own. The staff of this antique store is so unbelievably friendly, even to a browser. They couldn't help me with my maps but they had huge wardrobes, elaborate Shakespearian carvings, Eric Clapton on the airwaves, vases, strange oil paintings. They have so much stuff you could spend a whole afternoon in the store.
