Chesapeakemommies.com
I absolutely love being part of ChesapeakeMommies! I have made some wonderful friends and have been introduced to a wealth of knowledge! Being a first time mom, parenthood is pretty overwhelming and I love having a place to vent and discuss topics regarding my children and family.
I love that we have a variety of events on the calendar from playdates to mom-get togethers.
I am a shy person and it took awhile to get to know people, but I found if you are just yourself and are open, you will be able to enjoy the community fully!
Pie In the Sky
Out of the many pizza shops on 30, we love pie in the sky. It's quaint bistro/diner atmosphere makes it a fun place for a date, a night out or a quick lunch. The pizza is well priced and freshly made on premises. The specialty pizzas are great too!
Winters Run Inn Inc
Winter's run is best known for his homey atmosphere and great steamed crabs - in or carry out. We also love their cream of crab and MD crab soups. Great food and reasonable prices.
Maple Lawn Farms
We went here the beginning of October to pick apples. We had a great time and the apples were SO good. Baskets of apples are a flat $10.00 and you can purchase their baskets for $2.50 or just turn them in at the end for no charge. They had many varieties in season. They also have pick your own blueberries, peaches, pumpkins and many others.
Visit their website www.maplelawnfarms.com for the most current info.
Their market sells AMAZING apple cider and peach cider. We also purchased some home made pumpkin and apple spreads.
Great and inexpensive family activity. They also have other attractions seasonally. Check their website for all the details.
Nice scenic drive from Northern Harford/Balto Counties.
Boston Market
We really like the food and service provided by Boston Market for our wedding reception in 2006. The platinum option included real china, silverware, wait staff, etc. They served the main tables (bride & groom, parents & bridal party) and then everyone else did buffet style.
The price was very affordable for a moderate budget. The food was great and they took care of setting everything up and taking everything away. The only thing I had to provide them were the table cloths.
New Chinese Boys
Chinese Boys is our Chinese take-out favorite. We love their shrimp mei-fun and fried rice. Everything we have ever ordered has been fresh, tasty and well priced. They always give you lots of sauce and delivery is always either right on time or earlier.
Scoops Corner Cafe & Deli
This little eatery has great ice-cream, sundaes and desserts. They are also open early and serve breakfast items that are fresh and at great prices. For lunch options, we like their Shrimp Salad and any of their sandwiches.
They have a nice set-up inside and out w/ TVs inside and picnic tables outside.
Pat's Select Pizza-Grill
This Pat's location in Aberdeen is far superior than its Edgewood counterpart. The food is always really tasty and reasonably priced. If you don't want delivery, you can eat in their dinning room which is well-lit and always clean.
The only bad thing we have experienced is their customer service is sometimes lacking. We have been on more than one occasion annoyed with the snippy order taker on the other end of the phone.
We do like their specials and highly recommend their Rustic Steak subs, Seasoned Waffle Fries and their Pizza is good as well.
We usually would rather eat-in than take-out.
Pizza Boli's
This small carry-out restaurant is often overlooked. They have awesome (and very cheesy) pizza. Not greasy and a great size. One large is enough for at least 3 people. Specials are well priced and competitive. I also recommend their meat-ball subs... very delicious. Huge Italian meatballs, with melted provolone on a crispy Italian roll.
Union Hotel Restaurant
This homey family-style restaurant has excellent prime rib and steak entrees. Highly recommend this restaurant for an intimate dinner or date night.
The restaurant is in an old farm house that has lots of character and vintage touches. You really feel like you are dining in a old-time pub, complete with rustic tables and chairs and pewter service plates.
The service is always excellent. The only con is that the meals are a little on the pricey side, so its definitely a splurge.
