Pet's Rest, Inc.
Definitely not a scary one like in the movie of the same name! A visit to this cemetery will touch your heart. Animals of all kinds are buried here, many with monuments that rival those at the human cemetery. My favorite is the grave of Jim Jim the bird, it moved me the most.
Greenlawn Memorial Park
Right on the cemetery strip in Colma. The sign for the cemetery is enough to freak you out. It's really creepy looking. Lush and hilly with plenty of beautiful monuments.
Serbian Cemetery
A visit to this cemetery is not one you will soon forget. All the epitaphs are in Cyrillic, so they are impossible to read unless you are familiar with that alphabet. All graves have slightly above ground cement caps and are packed in together in a way that does not allow space between each grave, thus there is no grass.
Cypress Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park
A great place for those who enjoy cemeteries. Unbelievable monuments and mausoleums. It is so large that it takes up acreage on both sides of the road. Many famous people are buried here including the Hearsts. Must see the mausoleum of Paul Kalmanovitz, who owned General Brewing Company. It will blow your mind.
Woodlawn Funeral Home
Tons of beautiful markers and mausoleums. The main building is very old and looks like a castle. Hilly winding paths. Beautiful. My husband used the bathroom here and it freaked him out. I have never seen him walk so fast out of a building. He had to walk through a mausoleum to get there and he said it was very dimly lit and old and he kept hearing weird creaking sounds. So don't use the bathroom!!
Golden Gate National Cemetery
Not much of interest here as far as art. Military cemetery. The sheer number of identical stones is staggering though. Beautiful when viewed from the 280, but the side of it that is along El Camino Real that is surrounded by chain link fence and is across from a mall is not that nice of an atmosphere.
Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery
This a great cemetery full of history and art. Very large--you could spend multiple days just looking at all the beautiful tombstones and mausoleums. One of my favorite places to spend my lunch break.
Fox Rent-A-Car
Fox is not at the airport, but the shuttle will pick you up and take you there. Best prices on rentals. There is usually a line because people know it's a great rental place. Car will be checked throughly while you observe before you leave the lot. Recommended!
Mike Harvey Acura
I needed to get a pin that fell off my brake caliper. I was the only person waiting at the parts window for quite a while before someone helped me. The price of the pin was ridiculous and it took forever for it to come in. Service was not particularly great.
Hawaiian Drive Inn. #28
If there is one thing on the menu that you MUST try, it's the chicken katsu. Absolutely DELICIOUS! I ordered large quantities of food to feed a party of about 80 people, and it was no problem. Parking is a nightmare though. You need to be able to parallel park and be willing to walk.
