Cantina
There is alot going on. And this place is like the epicenter. It's popular, crowded, loud. I like to sit outside and of course start with a pitcher of margarita's. The food is yummy tho' a bit pricey.
Tequilas Restaurant & Bar
Tequila's is a beautiful restaurant. The service is excellent. They make a mean margarita. The food is high end and delicious. It's worth it to go just for drinks or for the full meal deal - it's a bit pricey.
North Bowl
Of the hip new crop of bowling alleys, this is by far the best. The dj is good, the place swanky, the atmosphere cool, and the light snacks are good. My only complaint is the bouncer who's got power issues.
Foodery
This is a great asset to the area. They make great paninis and sandwiches and the beer selection is super. Of course, beer priced by the bottle adds up to a pretty expensive 6 pack.
Yakitori Boy
This is a good place to go with a group. The Yakitori is very good and a plate full of skewered food makes for an exciting evening...The salt baked fish is also good and try the ginkgo's - they are nutty and quite good.
Amnet New York Inc
I have purchased tickets to Japan from Amnet twice now. In the process, they have patiently looked up fare after fare for me until I made a decision. The prices here tend to be better than anything I can find on my own or through sites like Kayak.
Tampopo Japanese Restaurant
I pretty much stick to the Bi Bim Bop and it does not disappoint. The styrofoam bowl it's served in is another story. Seating is limited and it's got a very take out atmosphere.
Devil's Den
The beer is the only reason to go right now. And that's a good one. They have a huge selection. The restaurant has potential, but the 2 meals I have had so far have been decent and not good. Hopefully this will improve by spring because they have great windows that open and it would be a nice spot for dinner. I'll try it again...
Tamarind
This is the best one in Philly. The soups in particular are really good. The restaurant is not too big and usually not too busy either. It's a nice find on South Street.
Caterina Limited
This is a good place to go for distinctive pottery particularly from France, Italy, and Poland. They also carry some lovely soaps, lotions, and bath products. The gallery upstairs is not all that interesting, but still go up, that's where the Polish pottery is.
