M Finkel & Daughter
If you are looking for museum quality antiques, this is the place to come. Of course, the prices are extremely exorbitant also. They specialize in early American pieces, including furniture, pottery, things from the home and more. I like to go in here just to look around. They are located on Pine in the Antique row area.
Breslins Consignment Corner
This is a great little vintage/consignment shop. It is tucked away in the heart of Jenkintown, and, I think, may be affiliated with a church. They have slightly higher end antiques, clothes and women's accessories. I've found some nice things there at decent prices.
R X Restaurant
This a great restaurant located in West Philly by UPenn. If you are a more health conscious eater, the chef uses mostly organic vegetables and meats. The cuisine is new American. They usually have a local artist's photographs on display.
FARMiCiA
I am not a huge fan of this restaurant. I've been there two times, and the food is only marginal, and the service isn't that great. It needs some work.
Honey's Sit 'n Eat
This is a very popular place for brunch on the weekends, but as a result, the wait is forever and a day. I find that annoying, and often give up waiting, but the food is really good. Check it out!
Race Street Cafe
This is a great local bar, that is a good place to come for a meal and drink with friends. It has a good number of tables, in additional to the bar, and the menu is pretty progressive for a bar. There is also a good burning stove in the winter.
Scarlett Alley
This shop is tucked away, but worth the trip. It offers a wide selection of gifts. They have jewelry, home goods, soaps. Pretty standard fare, but the prices are pretty reasonable.
Mode Moderne
Mode Moderne is a fabulous modern antiques shop. They specialize in 50s and other more modern antiques pieces. There is also a book selection in the basement. The prices are substantial, but there are some really unique pieces.
Sassafras Market
This is a great neighborhood market and deli. There is a lot of variety. They have a deli section for sandwiches. They also sell tins of drinks and packaged food items. There is an ATM, and they also have a good magazine stand.
Cafe Ole
When coffee shops are a dime a dozen, it becomes hard to distinguish yourself. But Cafe Ole sells delicious sandwiches and good coffee. Sandwiches go one sale towards the end of the day.
