I was impressed to find such an inexpensive hair stylist in such a convenient location. I was even more impressed with the results. For about $15 I got a wash, cut and set that would have cost me around $50 at the place I used to go.
This restaurant was renovated a couple of years ago to resemble a lighthouse. It's absolutely beautiful - inside and out.
The portions are big and the prices are great. The food is delicious! It's homecooked seafood at its best!
The service is great and the brothers who own the place with their mom make sure that everyone is treated with the utmost respect, courtesy and professionalism.
This restaurant is very kid-friendly and there are plenty of non-seafood options for the land-lovers!
I was given a gift certificate to JMY and I'm so glad I didn't have to pay! Though the staff is very nice, the quality isn't up to par. My nails didn't last a day - whereas from other places they last a week or even two. Their average prices are minimal - but you get what you pay for.
My least favorite thing about the place - it's so small and poorly vented that the smell of the polish almost knocks you over when you walk in. The staff all wear masks at all times. The stink really takes away from the whole manicure/pedicure experience.
I absolutely LOVE going to Guyon Nail (formerly Alice Beauty). Unlike most nail salons, there is no overwhelming chemical smell in the place. It's very large, well-vented, and has excellent staff. The pedicures are out-of-this-world. They do a great job on both manicures and pedicures. The prices are great. They offer spa massage and spa pedicures. VERY convenient location - right next to the Oakwood Heights train station. A+++
We have always had great service at this marina. The rentals are moderately priced. There are tons of shops and places to grab a bite to eat. There's a large outdoor seating area on the water with some summertime activities. The marina is on a convenient area of the lake. If you want to explore the lake, this is the place to start!
We love to stop by Dixie Caverns gift and antique shop just to see what's new. Half of the store is antiques - and they have quite a collection. The other half is cheap souvenirs, clothing and household decorative items. They have a lot of odds and ends that you can't find elsewhere.
The actual caverns are wonderful to walk through. The guides are very familiar with the formations and areas of the caverns. The paths are well-lit and there aren't too many stairs. It's great for kids. Just remember to bring a jacket - it's always cool in there.
This is one of only a few locally-owned, non-chain seafood restaurants in the Roanoke Valley. It is very good. Although not the same quality as you would find along the coast, you get huge portions for a very reasonable price. There is ample seating, so it's rare that you have to wait for a table. Parking is a bit tight - especially when it's busy.
This store is chocked FULL of fan gear. Whether you are a college football fan or major league baseball fan - they have something for you. I have never found so much VT Hokie merchandise outside of Blacksburg, VA! They even have NCAA teams that most people haven't heard of!
If they have an item, but not in your team's colors or logo, they will order it for you right away.
Don't have room in the car for everything you bought at their store while on vacation? NO PROBLEM! They will ship it to your house for you - on whatever day you specify!
The store staff goes above and beyond excellent customer service. It's true southern hospitality at it's finest!
This company charters Carnival cruise ships for specialty cruises. They have music cruises starring today's hottest Contemporary Christian bands and singers. They have a Girls Getaway Cruise that is like an extended girls night out. They have couples cruises. All of the cruises are packed with activities and speakers. There are celebrities who come on the cruises and tons of everyday people.
I have participated in two Girls Getaway Cruises. I am always impressed with how organized Premier Christian Cruises is. The staff goes out of their way to make sure that you have everything you need and to ensure that you have the best trip possible. They arrange everything from hotel stays before and after the cruise to transportation to and from the port from two different airports. The cruise is incredible. It's neat to pass by the celebrities in the hallway and see them as the real people they are. They're out playing mini golf with us or running on the treadmill next to ours in the fitness center. The workshops, services and worship times are awesome experiences. The Girls Getaway is amazing - when else could you hang out with 1500 of the best girlfriends in America? The poor male celebrities are completely outnumbered on the ship. It's an incredible experience.
The only downfalls are the cost (though they offer great payment plans) and one of the ships they use is old and small (you feel the waves when it gets rough).
If you want to take a cruise, take in a concert and meet some of your favorite Christian writers, speakers and comedians, this is a way to do it all in one 5 day trip! And no one does it better than Premier Christian Cruises!
