After being laid off from a permanent, CARA worked very hard to find me some consulting opportunities that fit my particular needs. If you've never done contract work, this is a good place to get your feet wet.
I'm so glad I found this place! We finally purchased a digital TV to replace the old analog one. The merchant offered to recycle the old TV, for $130! After looking high and low, I stumbled across Intercon and dropped the thing off for $10. The staff there was very friendly and helpful. There should be more businesses like this.
My experiences at Furama have been with large banquet parties. The entire top floor of the building is open as a banquet hall. I found that the food was rather average for the price.
The bookstore has a great selection of items on Chinese history and culture. The owner, ZJ Tong, also provides excellent walking tours of Chinatown that are informative and enjoyable.
I visited this museum for the first time a few months ago to attend a chamber music concert. I had no idea this great little gallery existed. I was really impressed. Not a place I would normally just stumble upon, but glad I found out about it and enjoyed it very much.
I like going to Russian Tea Time for the afternoon tea service. This is a special treat I enjoy about once a year. It's next to impossible to get in for dinner, with the after-concert crowd. Of course, I was awake for days after my husband and I finished a pot of the house tea.
This is a fascinating place for a real classical music lover. Time just stands still when you can chat with the elevator operator on your way up to the top of the Fine Arts Building. My instrument was purchased at B&F, and they are still the best place to go for quality strings, bow rehairs etc. Excellent service.
We've been please overall with the services of the Evergreen Park Credit Union. Although it's not easy to get there in person during regular business hours, I can request withdrawals over the phone and get a check in the mail in 2 days. EFT would be nice, but I prefer to support the smaller businesses over large banks.
I had a few appointments with Dr. Scher after suffering an ear infection and some hearing loss for a couple of months. The problem gradually disappeared on its own, after some very expensive tests were ordered without a real diagnosis. Dr. Scher was pleasant enough, but I wish I hadn't forked over all that money for nothing.
Dr. Lederer is very understanding and compassionate, which was the only tolerable part of our whole experience with FCI. Appointment schedules got screwed up quite frequently, and I never got the same answers or instructions from the rest of the staff.
