Located right on the beach, Sandbridge Island Restaurant is one of the few places in Sandbridge to go out. They have really great hand tossed pizza, with sizes ranging to 18" or by the slice. Dinner can be a little pricey ordering seafood, averaging about $20 per entree, but I would definitely try their pizza. They also deliver in Sandbridge.
Time Lounge is a nice place to go dancing and mingle with young business professionals. It is located on the popular Granby Street, so you can stop by here while out at the other bars as well. There is a cover for entrance. The place is small, so it does get crowded quickly. Come early and you can get some happy hour deals. They also have theme nights, so check out their specials!
The Boathouse is one of the places in Downtown Norfolk where the big name bands come to play. Tickets are sold through Ticketmaster. The Boathouse is located right on the water. There is outside patio. The place gets pretty packed. It is kind of like an old abandoned warehouse building. They have the area for 21 and up blocked off towards the back, which is the downfall.
The Baja is a small local bar/restaurant located in the middle of Sandbridge. In the front is a seafood restaurant and in the back is a screened in bar with outside seating as well. There is live music in the summer on the weekends. It is very casual and laid back, just like the Sandbridge locals. The staff is friendly and the beers are cheap. I would definitely suggest stopping by if you are in the neighborhood.
Otaki is a great place with excellent food and large portions! The service is wonderful, including the owner, who is found there frequently. Prices are about $15 and up. They also have a sushi bar if you are looking for just sushi instead of the traditional hibachi.
This place is a very cute little French bistro. The only downside was it was a little small. However, the food is fantastic. I had the best Turkey BLT sandwich. (and this was not your traditional BLT). They have freshly made products and a huge list of deserts. This is a great place to stop in for a lunch or dinner date. Prices are a little high (sandwich and fries was $13, but sandwich was so big, I had two meals out of it). I will definitely go back to try some more.
This place has potential, however, the service is not good. Beware there is also a cover and dress code that includes no hats! You also have to find parking down the street. The service is quite slow on the weekend unless you are flashing the big bucks, even though there are several bartenders working. The place gets packed, so arrive early if you want to try this place.
I love this place because it is one of the few places you can purchase a last minute costume all throughout the year. They have a wide range of costumes, and specialize in every holiday. They also rent out costumes, if that is what you need. The prices are average to any other costume shop, depending on what you need. It is also a dance shop, so if you need supplies for dance class, you can pick that up here as well. Staff is great and is willing to help you find what you need.
Island Girl Cigar Bar is a one of the few places to go and enjoy a cigar and beer or wine. It is a classy island themed bar.The set up is great. They have big chairs, and even couches to relax in. They have a great hapy hour from 4-7 on the weekdays. They also have several different events on different days, including trivia night and sports. This is also a great place to purchase cigar gifts.
Happy Stephanos is one of my favorite places at the beach! They have an awesome upstairs patio that wraps around the front and side, that gives you a view of the downtown Jax Beach area and surrounding bars. This place is great if you have a get-to-gether, or casual party to throw. The pizza is really great as well. They sell it by the slice or pie. The owners and staff are very friendly. The draft beer is cheap, and they also have live entertainment on the summer weekends.
