Thunderbird Lanes
There's nothing really that special with Thunderbird Lanes. It has over 10 lanes, so it's a good place for parties. In fact, I know a lot of kids who used to celebrate their birthdays here and they would get a bowling pin as a gift. They have a bar, but they don't offer food inside, which is a minus.
Brothers Diner
I had breakfast here with friends, and the food was delicious! We all ordered different things: omelettes, pancakes, and waffles with strawberry compote. Everything was delicious, and it was served within a couple of minutes. The diner has a very comfortable environment, and the prices are fair. However, the service could have been better.
Frances C. Doria, RN
I have been here twice for parties, and every time I was amazed by the setting of the restaurant; the entrance itself is impressive. Salad isn't usually something I enjoy, but their mix of greens and cheese didn't seem to need any dressing. They make really good sauce for their pastas, and I love their desserts. The service is good, and they have a bar if that's your thing. I would recommend Milano Modo because of its great food, service, and overall atmosphere.
Hanover Mart
Hanover Mart is a part of the Elly Family Inc stores (the laundromat is right beside it). The Hanover Mart is okay; it's very convenient because, whenever you're hungry or just bored of waiting for your laundry, you can make a stop here. The selection is that of a typical convenience store, and the service is pretty good.
Ward Stadium 16
Ward 16 is one of the best theaters in Honolulu, and it would be one of the best on the entire island of Oahu if the sound quality was better. During huge releases, this place is jam-packed, but that's understandable. The prices are high, but they offer military discounts, which I never see nowadays. Another pro about Ward 16 is the food: this is the first theater in which I ever bought pizza, and it was pretty good. All in all, I was very impressed with this theater.
Yotteko-Ya
Yotteko-Ya is very inexpensive, but you get a lot of quality food for your money. Their ramen is very delicious, and you can make customized soups with choices of beef, pork, chicken, and 10 vegetables. You can even choose the type of broth you want! Combo sets, which can come with ramen, gyoza or karaage (fried chicken), and rice, range from only $10-$12. If you're in the area and you're in the mood for ramen, definitely try this place out.
Kaanapali Romance
Kaanapali Ocean Inn is located right on the Kaanapali beach, so you have a great view of just one of Maui's white sand beaches. It's close to Whaler's Village, so you're within reach of shopping centers and specialty restaurants. The Inn also offers party venues. Reservations are easy, and the prices are not outrageous. Overall, I would say the hotel was pretty good.
Country Farm Inc
Country Farm Convenience used to be a Cumberland Farms Market. It's not the best convenient stores, since it lacks fresh to-go foods in its selection. However, does it offer your regular lottery and phone cards, which is what my family usually aims for when we go here. The service is okay, but sometimes you get an attitude depending on who tends to you.
Sushi King
Sushi King has really affordable bento boxes and plates during the late hours, like an eel box for a little over $10. I love the bento, and the sashimi is so tender the tuna melts in your mouth. I like Sushi King, but outside the after hour deals, they seem a little expensive.
Big Wong King Restaurant
Big Wong King is always packed because of their good food, cheap lunch deals, and ridiculously fast service. I love getting the congee, and the duck plates are always a great choice. When you're in Chinatown, check this place out!
