Riverside is great on body and paint work when your car has been in an accident. Their office people and appraisers are as efficient and nice as their body & paint shop people. They're not great about hooking up all the electronics or making repairs to mechanical things that have been damaged in a wreck, so watch that close. But their body & paint work can't be beat! We've had 3 cars worked on there after accidents. They are also the best about working with Insurance companies and co-payments and liablity issues.
Dr. Lake is the most gentle dentist ever! He provides extra care for people like me who are nervous and have a high fear of dentistry. He is professional and caring with a long-time staff. He is sensitive to time, we never have to wait much beyond our scheduled appointment time. His billing systems are still a little old-fashioned but you definately get that personal feeling with them. Since we MUST go to the dentist, I'm glad we have Dr. Lake.
I just had my first appointment with them this week. 1. I was the first appointment and they were late opening. 2. I was the first appointment and still began 20 minutes late. 3. The tech began the exam, but the Dr. was not even there yet... 30 min later. They were not very good on explaining what was happening or what they were doing to my eyes. (dialating & tests) The only really good thing is their prices on lenses were good. We'll see how the prescription is when I actually receive them and if I receive them on time.
Working accross the street, I use Grand Central Bakery several times a week. The morning pastires are wonderful and certainly more than enough in themselves. But the lunch and the yummy soups are a warm lunch on rainy days. The only drawback is the noisiness of the open seating. Don't think you're going to have a lunch meeting in there. Just sit and enjoy the people watching!
Bob Wagner and his associates are the best agents ever! They insure our home, cars and boat. They've handled giving us the best rates through all our teenager's years, several (unfortunate) accidents and home damage in a huge wind storm! The day of the storm they operated without power, out of their parking lot with a wifi laptop - trying to make accomodations for us! Just wonderful people!
I hardly ever take the dog to the groomer anymore now that the Soggy Doggy came! They offer all the shampoo, conditioner, ear cleaner, face wash, and even perfume. The tubs are on platforms so you don't break your back and they give you a rubber apron so you don't get soaked. It comes with all the towells you need as well as the brushes and dryer. If you need it, the owner will come by and clip the dogs nails for you, too! It's worth the 15-20 bucks to not have the mess at home! Only drawback - their hours are weird and days closed are odd.
Our chocolate lab actually likes going to this groomer. I don't know what she does, but the dog comes home happy. She is reasonably priced and quick. Even if you just want to drop the dog for an hour or so, she'll arrange the schedule so you don't have to come back again much later. She clips, washes, cuts & grooms. It's really nice to not do it ourselves.
This old fashioned rink has been family owned for years. They offer public skate on the weekends, with lessons on Saturday mornings. During the week there are private lessons and a Christian Music Skate night. They still offer competetive club skating in speed, dance and freestyle and have produced many winners over the years. We have had kids birthday parties there several times and it's always fun and reasonably priced. The staff and owners are always so kind.
Ice Skating is such a fun activity when the kids and teens are looking for something different to do. The Kent Ice Arena also has a nice game room with pool, air hockey and video games. Kids can come to go there, but there is a no-reentry policy to keep away the kids who just hang all night in and out. The skating rink has cold and hard cement platforms to sit on, down the entire length of the ice for parents to watch. But if that's just too cold, there's an upstairs cafe where you can sit more warmly and comfortably to watch the kids skate and have fun. It's a little costly - but you feel you've got your money's worth.
This is a popular place for skateboarding, bmx bike riding, and rollerblading teenagers. But it's also a great place for parents to take the younger ones who thing they want to do this like the big kids. They offer special days and times when the little guys arent' going to get run over. It's good, clean fun. Safety rules are strictly enforced.
