We went to the Kirkland Performing Center a couple of weeks ago to see the Children's Theater production of Pinoccio. We went because it was being interpreted in ASL but we weren't prepared for so many small children! The cast and director of the show did a wonderful job of involving the children in the audience and put on a very good show. The theater itself was comfortable and not a bad seat in the house. I'm anxious to see another one there, now.
I actually like this cheezy little theater. It's not over crowded and shows movies that are gone from most theaters. They always have a kids movie showing so it's a great place to introduce the younger ones to going to the movies. I love that they let you put your own butter on your popcorn!
It's really easy to go to this theater. It's hardly ever sold-out, plenty of parking, and they show the movies that have been out for a little while. Rarely will you see a new release here, but just wait a week or two and they keep them a long time. So if you think you missed it, check here. The price is consistent with other theaters and they offer a matinee price, too.
Club Impact is not in the greatest area of Tacoma - near downtown, not far from the bus station. But they provide a great underage club and a venue for the better garage bands to showcase their music. They offer different genre's on different nights so there's something for everyone. The ceiling is low which makes the sound bounce around a bit. The supervise the door and don't allow re-entry so it's safe for the kids. 15-18 is the key age group. Then those of us who go watch our kids play in the band!
Sound glass was able to make customer glass to fit doors on a china cabinet that my son made in woodshop! You know those doors weren't perfectly angled but Sound Glass made it work and it was very inexpensive! They also provided the tabs that should have been part of the door - to keep the glass in place. Nice people.
Loren Benson, ownder and operator of this window service is one of the nicest people you will meet! I have used him to do my whole house - inside and out. He did such a great job, despite my old and foggy windows. I see him working all over Kent - commercial and residential. Always humming or smiling. He is reasonably priced and can usually fit you into his schedule quickly.
Demar is mostly known to builders and contractors, but they are open to the public. Their selection is bigger than you'd ever imagine and they have a great selection of ceramic tile. The sales staff is friendly, Jerry Creek is a wonderful help! They don't treat you different for wanting to carpet one room than they do a contractor who has several entire houses. You might have to be patient while they deal with their regular contractors though.
David Reese, Jeweler and Owner, has more integrity than anybody you could imagine trusting when making an important jewelry purchase. They carry the finest gems and design custom peices if you want. They always service the peices they sell and will make every effort to make sure you're completely satisified. The jewelry here is definately upscale - so expect it.
Everytime we're going through Southern Oregon we make a point to stop at Ashland Fudge Company. Their home made chocolates and fudge are better than any I've tasted. It's a tad expensive but worth it. Rocky Road is our favorite.
Oneof the places that still makes a great Monte Christo sandwich. And they serve a homemade flavored iced tea that is really good, too. The servers are very nice and quick. It's a quiet place with mismatched antique tables and chairs. A perfect setting for a couple of ladies taking an afternoon to catch-up over lunch. Then a nice stroll through the antique mall attached to the restaurant is a nice finish. It's just a pleasant experience and I suggest you try it.
