I always stop here for lunch whenever I'm in the area. Their freshly prepared hot pastrami sandwiches and hot off the grill franks are a real treat. When you add a side of fries cooked with their skins, you have a really great meal. Be sure to ask for slaw with your order. Prices are quite reasonable, and the staff is always cheerful. You can also have cold cuts sliced to order to take back home with you.
I've been to Rang Mahal several times for dinner, and have never had a bad time or a bad meal. The food is delicious, and can be prepared as spicy or as mild as you want. The lamb dishes are especially good, as are the freshly made samosas. Portions are very generous and prices are very reasonable. The service is a bit slow on occasion, but on the other hand, they never rush you through your meal. I highly recommend it.
A great place for lunch or dinner. Service staff is friendly and helpful with recommendations on what's good. The food is delicious and served with a smile. Try any of their chicken dishes for a really wonderful meal and remember to leave room for dessert. Prices are reasonable too.
Dr. Saha is a thoracic surgeon who treated me for a lung problem caused by broken ribs. He was extremely gentle while he worked on me, and checked on me whenever he was in the hospital. He kept in constant contact with my other doctors to make sure that I was not having any additional problems. He took the time to show me the x-rays and explain exactly what was going on, and compared x-rays to show me how I was healing. If you EVER need a doctor of thoracic surgery, he is the man to see. I HIGHLY recommend him.
Whether you want shrubs, trees, or bedding plants, Emil's is the place to go for plants you won't find in chain nurseries or home improvement centers. All their plants are beautiful and healthy, and not much more expensive, especially when you consider the plant size and quality. At Christmas, they carry trees and wreaths that are really full and just beg to be decorated for the holidays.
If you enjoy the food at Manero's Restaurant, you'll love the meat market associated with it. They sell the best quality steaks and roasts, cut to order for you. The freshly ground chopped meat is good enough to eat raw, if you're into steak tartare. It's not cheap, but you really get what you're paying for.
I've met friends many times at Sitar for dinner on a weeknight and have never been disappointed. Service is great, the restaurant is usually not too crowded and noisy (except on weekends), and the food is great. They are a bit pricey, but the quality makes up for the cost.
Not a bad place to stop for Sunday papers and breakfast stuff like bagels, orange juice, milk, bacon, eggs and cream cheese after church on Sunday morning if you're in a hurry. You can get in and out quickly and there's plenty of parking. The staff is friendly and the store is spotless. It's also a good place to stop for a quick eat-in breakfast on weekday mornings.
Rachel's is a great place to go for a wonderful Italian meal before attending a show at the Tilles Center at CW Post. The place maybe small and a bit crowded at times, but the food and service more than makes up for this.
They have wonderful homemade pastas and pizzettes. The Eggplant Parmagiana, chicken and fish dishes are all excellent. Appetizers include a delicious Pasta E Fagioli just like Grandma made as well as an incredible baked Eggplant Rollatini.
This is one of the best places I have found for real Caribbean food, and one of friendliest restaurants to enjoy a meal. The owner, Juanita Cooke, always stops by your table to make sure you're enjoying your meal and to chat, especially with regulars.
The main courses are incredible. The jerk pork or jerk chicken with rice are spiced just right, and if you're a fan of fried chicken, once you taste the Cooke's In fried chicken you'll never want to buy it from a chain store again. Each entree comes with side dishes like corn pudding and fried sweet potatoes, and these are delicious enough to stand on their own as a light meal. And don't forget dessert if you still have room.
All this food and atmosphere comes at great prices too. Try it once and you'll be back for more.
