Nicole Carney
I cannot praise Nicole Carney enough. When we recently bought our big Victorian home in Ditmas Park, we were completely unsure about how to decorate. We had always decorated our apartments in a very modern style, but we wanted this to be different, but didn't know where to start. Nicole had a very clear vision of how to decorate our house based upon what she knew about our family. She made everything work for *our* family.
Nicole has a very keen and unique sense of style and color that created an elegant, yet cozy home for us. She would bring us fabrics, swatches and ideas and present them in a way that we could easily share in her vision. She would come shopping with us and dazzle and charm even the salespeople in the stores. She would always do research and come prepared, so that we wouldn't waste time. She was always very conscious of what we were spending and wanted to incorporate furniture we already had, but used it in a new way.
The best part of Nicole is her personality. She never loses her cool - even when she had every right to! She always had a positive attitude and strived to make everything fun and exciting. She even saved my husband and I from killing each other a few times!
Her rates are more than reasonable, she is a hard worker and she is always looking out for your best interest. I cannot recommend her enough.
Miriam
Really good food in a very cozy restaurant. I have been here a few times and have never been disappointed. All the food is very tasty - and they have a great brunch. The price is very reasonable and the service is friendly.
El Quijote Bar & Restaurant
I'm surprised I'm the first to review this restaurant, because I feel like it's been there forever! It's a very old-world, Spanish restaurant with good food and good sangria. It's a really great place to go with a group of people, because they have huge portions that you can share. The place is definitely a little "tired" but it's worth checking out if you're in the mood for that kind of food.
Elmo
I consider this restaurant more of an upscale diner. The food is good, but not great and so is the service. The brunch and the cocktails are really good and looking at all the pretty boys is so much fun!
Dallas BBQ
This is not the type of place that you go for fine dining, but it is a fun, kid friendly place that is cheap. The food is decent, the portions are big and there is fast service.
Ling Skin Care Union Square Spa
I have been going to Ling Skin Care for about 12 years and they have never disappointed me. They are clean, articulate, professional and really pamper you. All of their services are done with care and their products are top notch.
Superfine
This is such a huge, cool space in a great location. It's fun to meet here for a drink, because they have great cocktails, interesting bartenders and a funky bar. The food is decent, but the table service is not exactly quick...
August Restaurant
Want the perfect restaurant for that first date? This is it. It's nestled in the heart of the W. Village and it's very romantic and cozy inside. The food is really good and the service is wonderful.
Asia De Cuba
I went to Asia de Cuba when it first opened and I went recently...and it's still fabulous. The food is really some of the best Asian fusion around. The scene is very NY and it's very noisy, so it's the perfect place to people watch as you eat amazing food.
Angelo's of Mulberry Street
There are very few places where you can get better Italian food outside of Italy. This is one of my favorite places to eat in all of NYC. It's really crowded and loud, but that is part of the Italian feel!
