Westfield Shopping Town, still known as the Vancouver Mall, is the only game in town. While it carries a lot of the usual mall stores, it's missing a lot of the higher end ones so SW Washington has to shop those stores in Portland. However, the mall is pretty, clean, has good security, etc. It strives to please the customer.
Contessa is a fun shoe shop in downtown Vancouver. It carries a limited line of designers, but lots of great shoes within each design. Pricing is standard for designer shoes, but the sales are awesome. I would encourage the owner to stay off the phone. I was in the store one time for 15 minutes and she never even acknowledged me. Another time she had a big dog that slobbered all over my daughter - ugh. But I do like the shoes!
Fluttertime offers beautifully framed butterflies and bugs that were harvested naturally. If you are looking for a unique and different piece of art to hang on the wall, you'll find it here. Prices are reasonable.
Dr. Barsotti is an expert in the field of endocrine pathology and was recommended to me when I had a problem. He was very thorough and on top of things, discussing all my optiion. His office follow up was great.
Cottman Transmission Center did a great job on our car. I like the fact that we could bring in our car once a year for the next three years for a Transmission check up. Now that's service!
While the store carries a great selection of clothes, the owner is obnoxious. She insulted my friend by telling her how out of style her jeans were, and was overbearing while trying to make a sale. She insulted another friend of mine who tried to return a dress with a tear in the seam, accusing her of wearing it and destroying it. It was obvious she was angry when we didn't buy anything. Prices are high and the merchandise doesn't seem to turn over much. Shopping there was not a pleasant experience.
We have taken both of our cars to Gaynor's for oil changes. They are fast and efficient, and don't try to upsell you on a bunch of stuff you don't need. Plus, they check out other things as well for free. Nice friendly staff.
Though it was a trek across town, we were convinced to take our computer to Edex. It was a great experience. Our computer was fixed quickly and the problem was explained to us on our level. Edex even kept a backup for our computer for a month in case the problem should reoccur before we could save everything. It's the only place we take a sick computer now.
Tommy O's East Vancouver location is a great addition to the neighborhood. While the prices are on the high side for a suburban restaurant, we enjoyed the more upscale versions of Hawaiian Food than some of the smaller Hawaiian eateries around town.
Fun donut shop, much needed in East Vancouver! Great flavors. Skip the coffee shops and head to Dots!
