Atmosphere is very nice, the ambiance it sets is very trendy and eclectic.
Only problem is that you have to be there when the right people are working. More often than not you'll end up with a grumpy teenage cashier that lacks people skills...nothing kills the mood more than bad service.
Other than that their milk teas are satisfactory, and it has a good atmosphere to just relax.
Okay everyone, you heard of the Mikawaya brand mochi ice cream?
THIS IS THE FIRST MIKAWAYA, and where the mochi ice-cream craze began!
This Mikawaya also has shave ice, gelato and a manju shop!
I definitely recommend the shave ice, I've been eating it ever since I was a kid..they have a range from strawberry to lime and they also have Uji (Green tea flavor, a personal favorite). They Stop by when you get the chance, definitely worth it.
First off, the place is very hard to get to...off the 210 you have to make a right into a gas station to get into the Shopping Center it's located in...then getting back on is another story.
BUT, if your dog needs grooming, this is a good place to go. They do small to large dogs and cats. and they always give you a courtesy call letting you know to pick up your pet.
If I recall correctly they also started using the Pet-pedicure style of trimming nails instead of clipping them.
My friends in high school worked there as part-timers, and they always brought me cream puffs when I visited them.
Granted the cream puffs are small in comparison to teh popular chain Beard Papa's, but their custard fillings are exceptionally better!
they still taste good even after a day in the refridgerator.
Fugetsudo has been around for I don't know how long. My family has been friends of the store long before I was born, but even then: I've been a fan ever since I was 5! The owners are always so kind, and their manju is the best!
I recommend getting a mixed box for gifts, or a package of their bite-sized pieces for easy snacking.
If you're not too keen on manju, hey always have snacks to sell there: candies, crackers, cookies, etc
I've been a patron of this store for possible 7+ years now, and they will always be my favorite place to drop by for my anime fix.
They have one of the most impressive resin statue collections I've ever seen, and decent library of manga and artbooks. They always have a wide selection of wallscrolls, and the employees always seem eager to help or suggest you something new.
It's a little hard to find, but if you happen to be close by, drop in!
Shaka's has been around for quite some time. They have a wide variety of Hawaiian foods, but seriously...
Nothing beats the heat of their Shave Ice!
They have a long list of flavors with many ways to customize the order (i.e. ice cream, condensed milk, etc)
Go if you have a chance :)
Very good dessert place!
Although it is very much like a GuppyHouse, just not as crowded and a bit over priced.
BUT, if you are craving shave ice, they're a rather exceptional place to go.
My family has been going there for several years, and we never get tired of it.
The place is small but comfortable enough for you and your party to enjoy the food together.
Although I don't recommend strolling in with more than 10 people.
A favorite dish is their Sizzling Beef: very good aroma when it comes to your table and people always stare with that "I WANT THAT" look on their face.
