I have worked with Tracy before and I think she does a great job with hunters and kids. She is gentle with the horses and seems to enjoy working with kids.
A bit pricey for the food served . service was okay , but it was a bit busy ( which says that they need more staff on busier times ). sometimes I wish I had ordered 2 drinks at atime because of the service . truly disappointing considering the amount of people there .
Here's the trick to this place: the food takes forever to come to your table, so don't come starving or in a hurry. With that out of the way, please enjoy my review.
I envision the kitchen at Don Pedro's to be a really relaxed place where the cooks move at a contemplative pace. The quality of food that comes out of the kitchen is extraordinary, though it doesn't always hold up well to the rigors of home-delivery. Better to eat in.
The service is spotty. Most of the waiters, though amiable enough, have really thick accents and this has resulted in incorrect orders. This situation is not helped by the very loud music. Definitely a place where you want to point to the menu.
The mofongo de cerda is amazing, it's like nothing else I've ever eaten. Much as I love variety, I've ordered it there a few times. If you only go once, get the mofongo.
As far as ambience goes, it's kind of loud, but cozy enough and kind of fun. If you go on a date, you'll be kind of yelling at each other over the noise, but it might give you an excuse to move closer. Besides, you'll have plenty of time to talk to each other; did I mention the slow service?
I like this place. I don't know why I don't go more often.
after reading steller reviews of cowboy star i went for lunch to give it a try. It was a small place well decorated and a nice lunch menu. i tried the bison ribeye and my wife wanted the crab sandwich. our server said they were out of the dish which happens sometimes she then recommended the fish and chips. the dishes came and the presentation was nice, the bison ribeye was tender and tastful not the best i have had but was very good. the fish and chip however were raw and soggy. we had to return to recook, which took awhile enough time wher i finished my meal. when it returned it was done but still soggy. the chips however were excellent. the problem we had was there was no acknoweledgement as to the meal problem other than recooking it was like no big deal? we will not return there are many fine steak houses that care about thier customers
This Texas Style BBQ caters to most of the high tech companies in sorrento mesa area ; It's a family operated for the past 26 years. They have one of the best smoked meats around town along with some homemade cole slaw and bbq pinto beans. They cater private and corporate events. Simply the best meats and excellent , friendly service.
Adams Ave Grill was an eh experience for me. As far as dinner goes the food was ok, but came out warm. The serve was nice and friendly but not very responsive or attentive. The place was overpriced for what it was offering. I guess for lunch it would be better, but for the dining experience it wasn't all that. From the reviews I've seen about this place it also looks like service and food is very inconsistent. Not a good sign. This place would be a great place if it took it's service more seriously. The menu is nothing too spectacular either. This just makes for a very forgettable experience.
I was introduced to the Red Fox by a friend of mine who lived in Normal heights. She loved it, and I soon did too. I have an excellent meal, with steak and crab legs. Their bleu cheese dressing is absolutely wonderful! Highly recommended!
I was introduced to Croom's at barona's BBQ Fest! By far, the best food there. I then went to try it at the restaurant, and it was superb. You can't go wrong with Croom's! Excellent BBQ and the side dishes were great too ( I loved the greens)!
I love this place. I have always gotten great service, and I think since I go so often.
Anyways, the place is small, but clean and well placed booths. I only order a few things here. The Gyoza is the best Ive ever had. Seriously its perfect. Its tender and moist with the perfect amount of crisp on the outside. I order one order all for myself. As for the grilling portion, I only order the marbled prime boneless short rib. It is the best. The beef is tender, juicy and full of flavor. Im drooling as I write. My tip is I soak the meat into the dipping sauce first for a minute then I grill. I first sear the meat on high heat which is in the center of the grill. Then I cook for a tad bit longer on the outer edges. This results in perfect meat.
Overall, give this place some love because its very very tasty. And the prices are very reasonable.
