The food is okay, I've heard the wine is nice. It's a bit pricey, but it's still a classy place downtown Edmonds to dine out. My favorite is the Caesar salad with comes on one large romaine leaf. Their dressing is very, very good. The service is quick and sometimes there's even live music. Not a bad deal for downtown Edmonds.
A great addition to a dying downtown Edmonds. This hip sports bar and grill has excellent food and a fantastic environment. With leys on each chair that you are welcome to wear while you dine, you almost feel like you're in Hawaii. Theirs a small section for eating outdoors and in the summer, the music is going, the windows all open and it's defnitely the place to be. Whether you're looking for a couple of drinks or dinner with the family, both are completely fine at the very appropriately named Taki Tiki.
This little hole in the wall coffee shop is fantastic. Just feet from the ferry and waterfront, grab your java as you run to catch the ferry, or sit in their comfy chairs and watch the locals stroll by for hours. Their coffee isn't too bold, their mochas not too sweet, the atmosphere warm and quiet. It's a great place to catch up with a friend or to just sit and read the paper or a good book in front of the window.
Now some people are absolutely in LOVE with this place. I haven't gone so far. I appreciate their healthy ingredients and their support of locally grown produce. They do have a wonderful breakfast bar in which you can get unlimited fruit, syrup, jam, butter, etc... But beyond their breakfast, I haven't found their lunch to be anything beyond "eh." Perhaps I'm just not sophisticated enough to appreciate whole tuna and hard rolls for sandwich bread...
The food at Queen Anne Cafe is good. It isn't earth shattering, it was pleasant and left me satisfied. I love that each booth has it's own coat hook, very cute. But what really got me were their lattes, DELICIOUS. Please forgo Starbucks, head over to Queen Anne Cafe and sit at the bar for a latte. It's worth the extra few feet, yum!
I was so pleased to find a hair salon located on the Highlands and this place is a treat. It's a cozy little atmosphere with relatively inexpensive cuts. A female cut was $30 for a first time visit, $35 normally. The owner is Alice and she's very friendly and cute. There's lots of neighborhood parking, a nail salon next door and a pie shop across the street, what else do you need?!
This store is one of the best new additions to Queen Anne. Not only for the purchasing of a new game, but for the PLAYING of a game. They have every game you can imagine and tons of tables where you can actually play all of them. I have gone up there numerous times just to spend an evening trying out some new games (and usually you get sucked into buying one). I've even seen grown men and women having birthday parties in the loft there. It's a brilliant idea and the staff KNOW their games!
This store is perfect for it's location on Queen Anne. They have a little of everything-from games and books to stationary and scrapbooking supplies. It's very artsy and classy but kind of pricey. Great if you need to grab a quick gift for someone, but be careful to set a budget before going in!
Feel like royalty when you step into the teacups new space (the former Tully's). It's large and in charge but yet intimate in feel. The employees KNOW their teas and will spend a significant amount of time walking you through the different kinds of teas and you can smell each and every one before committing. They offer classes each week on tea--how to drink, how it's made, etc... and it's definitely a lot more sophisticated of an experience than going to Starbucks.
This was by far one of my worst dining experiences. It was a Wednesday night, we waited over 45 minutes to be seated, another 30 to have our order taken and then OVER AN HOUR for our food to come. I almost left before our food came. When it finally did, it wasn't even very good. From what I could tell they had only 1 or 2 servers for the whole place. I'd stay away from Betty's and head across the street to the 5 spot-though always busy you get seated fast and the food is always good.
