Oakcrest Family Restaurant is a great place for a cheap meal. Their prices are incredibly reasonable! The food is average quality and taste, as is the service, so its hard to say one way or another. I don't dislike Oakcrest by any means, but it isn't something that comes to mind immediately when we are thinking about eating out. If you have a coupon its definitely worth it!
I always hear raves of Tex and Shirley's. I've tried them on several occasions, and I've never been satisfied with my meal. The food isn't great, although it isn't terrible either. I usually go when I have a coupon or there is a special and the kids can eat pancakes for a great price. The service has never been very good when I've been there either, so maybe I'm just going to Tex and Shirley's on the wrong days at the wrong time. It is cramped with the layout of the tables and very loud at times. It is one of the last places I choose for breakfast food.
Ham's Lakeside is one of my top choices for those nice warm days when its the perfect temperature to sit outside and eat. It's especially scenic at this Ham's location because the patio overlooks a lake. The food is average - it is nothing spectacular but nothing to complain about either. Service is hit or miss with the staff, but the restaurant is very kid friendly and a great place for families.
I've yet to have a good experience at Sapporo (yet I keep returning when I have a coupon...in an attempt to find the good that others see in the restaurant). I've dined at Sapporo probably 10-12 times in the past few years. I've never left the restaurant happy. Something has always gone wrong with the meal, either the service was poor, the restaurant was dirty, the staff was rude, or the food wasn't cooked properly. The portions are incredibly small compared to other Japanese restaurants in Greensboro. I always feel rushed when I eat there - it just feels like there is no time to enjoy the meal, like the servers are trained to turn over tables to make more money instead of allowing the customers to eat comfortably without rushing. This is the absolute last Japanese restaurant I choose when given options.
I love going to Arigato, but it is a MUST to have reservations. The wait is almost always an hour or more if you don't have a reservation. Their food is delicious and the portion sizes are far superior to other Japanese restaurants in the area. The price is comparable, and even slightly less expensive than other similar restaurants. It's a blast watching the chef's cook the food on the table in front of you - perfect entertainment at the table! I definitely recommend Arigato Japanese Steak House for delicious Japanese food in Greensboro.
The Golden Coins has a convenient location right on Mayfield Road. It's just your typical bar, but the price is right and the food is good. You can catch a game on TV and play some video games or darts while you have a drink and chow down.
The atmosphere at Claddagh Irish Pub is outstanding. It feels like you're in an old stone castle. We were lucky enough to eat out on the patio on a breezy summer day. The service was average and it took a long time for the food to come out. The food was phenomenal however, although slightly expensive for lunch, in my opinion. We definitely enjoyed our meal and would consider returning if we had the occasion arise.
Tommy's is absolutely my favorite restaurant in the Cleveland area. Just writing this review is making me crave the Quinn sandwich and a milkshake. It is the one place I have to stop and eat at every single time I am in the Cleveland area. Plus, its always nice to walk around Coventry and see what's new - and stop in Big Fun!
Yours Truly has been one of my favorite restaurants in the area since I was in high school. I love their cheese fries, and the breakfast food is wonderful. One of my favorite stops when I'm back visiting the Cleveland area!
We ate at Brio for my parent's anniversary, and had a group of about 10 people (including my 3 year old child). The food was delicious, the service was great, and it was a great experience for my family to be able to celebrate at a nice restaurant with good food. The price was a little on the higher end, but the restaurant is a little on the higher end too. I'd recommend it for a nice date night out!
