I love going to King Tut Drive-In not only for the delicious food, but for the experience. There are so few places left where you can eat at a real drive-in from the 1950's, and King Tut's food does not disappoint. I've been going there for nearly 40 years and will keep going until they close their doors. The pizza is unlike anything you can get from the big chain restaurants!
Vicky has such a wide variety of products for parties. Her prices are a little higher than what you might find elsewhere, but she also offers many items you can't find in other stores. The selection of cake and candy-making supplies is unbeatable in the Beckley area.
I was referred to Dr. Kazmer for soft tissue graft surgery. He explained the procedure in detail and explained my options for anesthesia, taking the time to answer any questions I had. On the day of the procedure, I was quite nervous but his staff was very professional and reassuring. Afterwards they made sure my husband understood my post-op instructions as I was still a bit groggy from anesthesia. They even sent us home with a cheesecake, since I could only eat soft foods for the first couple of days. I received a call at home that night to make sure I was feeling OK and having no lasting effects from the anesthesia.
Dr. Kazmer's staff also worked with me to file an insurance claim and offered multiple options for payment of my portion of the bill. While seeing a periodontist is not something most people wish to do, Dr. Kazmer and his staff make the experience as pleasant as possible.
When we moved to the Triangle area, we didn't know anyone and had no family nearby. Much to my surprise we discovered drop-in, hourly childcare. It was the perfect solution for doctor's appointments and meetings.
I have tried all of the local drop-in childcare facilities in Apex and Cary. My children were always happy when I came to pick them up but only at My Play Place have I felt they were given real attention by the caregivers. Cindy and her staff have a much more structured setup with storytime, crafts and theme days (pajama day, etc.). Cindy was incredibly patient and helpful with my youngest child during our potty-training struggles.
The hourly rates are comparable to the other drop-in facilities in the area. If you choose to purchase hours in advance it will reduce the hourly rate. Lunch can be provided on your own (peanut-free only) or you can order from a list of kid-friendly choices for an additional charge.
I don't know how I would have survived the first year of living in the area without this service. I highly recommend My Play Place!
I will admit I have always been skeptical of chiropractors. After suffering with migraines for months, and finding little relief except with over the counter medications, I finally gave in and decided to see a chiropractor. A friend recommended Apex Family Chiropractic. I saw Dr. John and was amazed with the results. After just one treatment my headaches became less frequent, and within a couple of weeks they were gone altogether. He explained the process to me at my first visit so I understood the reasons for the different adjustments.
I was never left to wait more than 5 minutes for an appointment. The staff was friendly and the office was clean, although there was a strange smell as soon as I entered the office (incense?). I was offered a 30-minute therapeutic massage as part of my treatment.
I continued treatment weekly for about 2-3 months and even now I only have occasional headaches. In the 6 months since I discontinued treatment I have had just one migraine.
There is a reason the parking lot at Daniel's is overflowing nearly every night: the food and service are excellent! The menu offers a wide variety of choices to suit everyone's tastes. The food is made with fresh ingredients. Try the pizza and you'll never order from one of those big chain pizza places again.
Overall a great value!
My child took classes at Vision Martial Arts in Apex for several months. There is high pressure to sign a contract for the "Black Belt Leadership Program" and to recruit friends to join. It all seems very exciting until you realize they are learning very little, yet all students still advance to the next belt every 2-3 months. Anyone considering their program should attend a graduation first to see that many students at even the higher belt levels are clearly unsure of the movements. I observed a very young child who rarely participated in class and did very little at the graduation, yet still advanced to the next belt with her siblings. It's wonderful that they have a goal of teaching children to become black belts, but if the students don't have the skills to go along with it the belt is meaningless.
On the positive side, they do stress manners, respect and personal responsibility. Each child has a "job sheet" where they work with their parents to keep track of their chores, homewook, personal care, etc. on a weekly basis.
Overall I found their classes quite expensive and did not appreciate the high pressure sales tactics.
Our family loves Dr. Kitzmiller and Apex Dental Group. They are very professional and the office is clean with the latest equipment. The staff is very caring and friendly. After some major dental work, Dr. Kitzmiller even called me at home that evening to make sure I was feeling OK. They rarely keep us waiting for appointments. On the one occasion I was asked to wait, the receptionist explained the emergency they'd had and kept me updated as to how long the wait would be. I highly recommend them!
