Has the best chocolate candy! I love haystacks. I'd been on a diet for months and decided to splurge and get 4 haystacks. The person got them, put the in a bag and told me the price. I thought "holy cow, chocolate is gold now". After I got into the car and got one out of the bag I thought "holy cow, this one must weigh 1/4 by itself". And when I looked they all weighed about the same. They were the biggest and thickest haystacks I'd every had! I ate every one between Depoe Bay and Seal Rock and I enjoyed every single morsel. Man, that was a lot of excellent chocolate and I don't regret one single bite!
One of my personal favorites for home town cooking. The Blue Whale has recently received an upgrade in remodeling but the food is good as always - especially the fish and chips. The town of Yachats is inundated with Europeans in the summer and many flock to The Blue Whale for its fish and chips. I personally prefer the prime rib special on Friday nights. For $9.95 it can't be beat. The pies, however, definitely need improvement.
This used to be a great market. The building is made of cedar and there are a lot of antiques hanging on the walls. The staff used to be fun and accommodating. Now the prices have been raised, the stock is not there, no one cleans the store so it's dirty and the regular customers don't go in because Sue's not being the counter with her smile and hilarious quick wit. Too bad the new owner changed the store and it lost its personality.
This is a consignment store that has great prices and nice items. You can find anything here! The location is not well marked but it's huge inside. 6,200 sq. ft. of used furnitue, clothes, antiques, cooking supplies, toys, tools and you name its. I have bought unique pieces of furniture here including 3 50 year old pua shell shades for $35 each! My friends are still drooling! Betty and Donna, the owners, are great people and fun to talk to. They're located right over the Yaquina Bridge in south beach in the parking lot with Hoovers Tavern on the east side of 101 next to Flashbacks Restaurant. Forget about the antique malls in Lincoln City. This is the place to shop!
