I went to Rockhill Women's Care during my first pregnancy. I used them previously for my gynecologist needs as well. I regularly saw Dr Cathanie Halberstadt, who I highly recommend.
I've also seen Dr Barnthouse, who provided excellent care. I was not so impressed with the care of Dr Pearman, but it was the morning after I gave birth and so probably not a great impression anyway. Dr Gene Vandenboom delivered my child, and was quick and professional.
The whole staff is friendly and efficient. They are top notch and highly recommended by me.
We've had our car repaired at Collision Plus about 3 times in the last two years, and they always do a phenomenal job. Their prices are reasonable, but I'm not sure how competitive they are because I return for the wonderful service.
Mr Steele is always very friendly when we go in. Last year, we needed to rent a car from them while ours was being repaired, but my husband wasn't present, my in-laws already had one car rented from them at the time, and I was "too young" (23 for females to rent cars, I was 21). However, Steele was willing to work with us since we needed a car to take our then 3 month old to doctor's appointments.
Overall great service, though it can take some time. I also recommend asking about car rental through their shop, last year it was only $5 a day which is a better deal than you can get at a rental agency!
My daughter developed a skin tag in a sensitive area, and after a visit with our pediatrician, we were referred to Children's Mercy Surgery clinic. We met with Dr Ostlie and I immediately had a great vibe from him.
Dr Ostlie was efficient and quick when examining my daughter, which was great for our situation. He was very thorough in explaining what course of action he recommended.
The day of surgery, he met with my husband and I before our daughter was put under, and again we felt that great, soothing vibe from him. When the surgery was over, he came out and spoke to us, very friendly and assuring that everything went smoothly.
Our follow-up visit had the same feeling of great care, he soothed my daughter when she fussed which was a great thing for me, as our previous pediatrician was not friendly in this way at all.
Overall I was extremely satisfied with our experience with Dr Ostlie, and have recommended him to other moms who have needed a pediatric surgeon. I will also absolutely return to him should the need arise.
I went to Red Star Studios for a mom's afternoon out. We thought we would be painting pottery, but were pleasantly surprised to learn we would be learning to throw pottery instead! It was $10 for a 2 hour "fun" class, which I thought was very reasonable, but I don't know the going rate for classes.
Our teacher was Mar (?it started with an M?) and she was great about teaching us the techniques while letting us gab. She took us through the gallery, which was nice to see others' works of art.
As the mom of a toddler, it was a GREAT escape! I got to make a mess and not have to clean it up for once. I'd absolutely tell others about this place, and recommend wearing "play" clothes. The clay washes out, but it's an odd feeling to wear nice clothes with clay specs on them around until you can change.
My in-laws are from NOLA and we recently treated them to dinner at the location on 39th. We all love it! It's great, authentic food for a decent price.
I LOVE the fried pickles and the bread. I am not a spicy food fan, so I stick with the grilled chicken and it's delicious. My daughter, however, will climb out of her high chair for anyone's food from Jazz!
We shared beignets for dessert, which I was informed by my in-laws were not made authentically, but I have no complaints!
I would check out restaurant.com before heading out to Jazz, as you can almost always get a great deal from there.
I began cloth diapering when my daughter was 7 months after a quick trip to this store. The owners are very helpful, but don't over assert themselves or seem aggressive.
The store is set up in a relatively easy to navigate fashion, if you understand the hierarchy of cloth diapering!
I went to their first swap with a close friend that also CDs and we had a blast! There was tons to choose from, at mostly reasonable prices. The only problem I had was that everyone else in the Metro attended as well, and was extremely crowded and hot. Luckily it was a nice day, so our husband's could hang around outside.
Overall a great, great store and I will return as often as my budget allows, in addition to recommending it to other like-minded mamas.
I delivered my first child under the care of Dr Halberstadt, and loved her! I was referred to her by a friend after a disappointing experience with another OB-GYN, and was wonderfully surprised by the care I was given.
Dr Halberstadt helped me sit up from the first Pap smear she did, which I will always remember as such a kind and caring gesture.
During my pregnancy, she eased my worries about anything I expressed concern, and gave me information on anything I requested. She supported my decisions and let me know if she disagreed with anything and WHY.
Unfortunately I went into labor and delivered when she was not on call. I will absolutely return to her during following pregnancies.
It's been a while sine my last appointment, but I remember the office staff always being courteous and helpful.
My husband and I have visited the Ranch Cafe twice and always leave happy with the food and service. I love the homey atmosphere of tables pushed together and being able to seat yourself. The portions are definitely appropriate for the price.
I'm not too sure about their hours, though. One of our visits ended with the lights accidentally being turned off on us (our daughter eats corn one kernel at a time), but the lady was apologetic. As a former service industry person I can understand wanting to head home, but it was 3pm! Regardless, I hurried my daughter on and we left shortly. Still a great experience.
I also attended the crop night with the mom's group and had a blast. The staff is very friendly! I am not a pro scrapper by any means, and am still enamored by every little scrap item, but I was impressed with the selection of items. I will definitely be back, and recommend to others.
My husband and I really enjoy a good buffet, and Chinatown Buffet hits the spot! We recently dined in with our daughter, and the staff was great, even buckling her into the high chair! The food was decent, and plentiful. I would love more veggie only dishes, but of course found plenty to eat regardless!
