Nesteled at the end of Main St in downtown Davidson, Summit Coffee is not to be missed. Always busy with college students, friends chatting or some just reading the paper it has the cozy coffehouse feel not offered by the big chains. They also offer organic, fair trade coffee which is a plus.
A selection of teas, steamed drinks and hot cocoa are aviable for the non coffee drinker. There is also a nice outdoor sitting area with a near by playground for the kids.
Healthy Home Economist Market provides a selection of both conventional food products as well as organic choices. They have fresh produce, a small meat counter, bulk items, frozen foods, refrigerated foods, cleaning products as well as a large selection of supplements.
In my experience the staff could be more helpful. It's often hard to find someone to take the time to answer your questions.
I have found their prices to be a bit high especailly when compared to other natural/organic markets. That being said, they are one of the few options in this area if you are looking for natural and organic products.
The Village Store in Downtown Davidson is a great locally owned family business. Looking for a gift for a friend or child? They have it. Looking for something traditional or unique? They have it.
The Village Store has a little bit of everything - cards, knick knacks, shoes, handbags, decorative pieces, pottery and more. They have a large selection of Vera Bradley as well.
The staff is friendly and helpful and often the owner is working. Their prices are reasonable as well.
Great locally owned bookstores are hard to find these days but this on is a gem. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. There are several seating areas if you want to browse through your book before purchase. They offer children's story times in a cozy setting.
Great place in quaint downtown Davidson for breakfast or lunch. The menu has something for every taste and there are always specials for the day. Make sure to save room for dessert - great homemade cakes. Family friendly and nice staff make this an enjoyable place to dine.
Located in an old house, The Tea House greets you with the aroma of fresh brewed tea in a cozy atmosphere. There are 3 dining rooms each with a different theme (including an Alice in Woderland room great for children's tea parties). Everything is prepared fresh on site by their fabulous chef. Breakfast and lunch are served daily and Sunday brunch is not to be missed. Portions are just right and they even have mini-cupcakes if you need just a little dessert. And it goes without saying that they have an extensive tea menu - including afternoon and high tea services.
It starts out as a great bookstore. Their childrens selection is great and the staff are always quick to offer suggestions. It is completely kid friendly with comfy reading areas. Then you realize they offer so much more. There are great gift sets, art supplies, toys, and educational games. They offer story time several times a week for different age groups. On top of all this you can create your very own book right on site. They offer classes and camps on writing and book making for every age. You can also bring in your own items and they will help you create a book from things like your children's artwork.
Such a cute store stocked with lots of gifts for all occasions. I always find soemthing new and unique everytime I stop in to shop. Great place to look when you need to pick up a last minute gift for a friend.
I've been eating here since they opend 15 year ago. Great authentic family owed Italian restaurant. Don't just go for the pizza. Try the pasta and the weekend specials. Delicious! My family compares all other Italian restaurants against Amalfi's and we have not found one that even comes close.
My favorite NY style pizza place in the area. You can order by the slice or a whole pie, which is great when everyone wants something different on their pie. Great place to stop in for lunch and don't forget your Italian Ice on the way out.
