Joan Jenkins was the seamstress who worked on my wedding gown. It needed minor alterations when she began working on it, however, by the end I would say the dress was ruined. I had to take it to another seamstress to try to repair the damage, but it was really no use. The beautiful gown I had ordered ended up being an ill-fitting disappointment.I visited Joan's "studio" at least 5 times, and each time the dress still was not complete and didn't fit properly, so she had to keep working on it. It was not an overly complicated style, but maybe it was out of her realm of expertise. I did see several other happy customers there, so perhaps she does good work on simpler styles, but I was brought to tears over the final product of my dress. I finally told her I was just going to take it as-is and find another seamstress to fix it.I would NOT recommend her to anyone, and I have warned several friends about her. One final note, I found her "studio" incredibly disgusting and unprofessional. She had cats running around and piles of dirt and clutter everywhere (including dirty dishes and trash just lying around). It was a complete mess and not the proper place to be working on gowns worth hundreds of dollars.
