Athens West is conveniently located in Seacliff Village shopping center with all the other restaurants. It serves a nice mix of Greek favorites and my family has found something to suit everyone on the menu.
Dr. Bobbi practices 'no crack' chiropractic. I was a little skeptical when I took my dancer daughter in even though I'd heard rave reviews for years from other dance moms. It was like magic. She diagnosed the situation quickly, predicted just what would happen after each treatment and didn't lie when she said just three or four visits would do the trick. I raved about her and her magic stick so much that three of my co-workers are seeing her - one driving to HB from San Clemente!
Don't be fooled by the strip mall location of this restaurant - there's nothing fast food about it. The fish is always fresh and the preparation will delight you.
Johnson-Ukropina is more commonly known as just J-U because Ukropina is too hard to pronounce if you don't know how. The company has been around for 18 years and is a full service marketing and advertising agency. They do everything from national and international television campaigns to small signs for local retailers. Unlike some agencies that just want to make award winning ads (and J-U has plenty of awards!) their focus is on ensuring all plans and creative are strategically on target for their clients. No project is too big or too small for J-U to do a good job.
I'm hoping Dr. Weber and Dr. Muth never want to retire because I really can't bear thinking about finding a new OB/GYN group. I started with Dr. Weber 25 years ago and his practice has seen me through infertility, the birth of my two children and all the usual and unusual stuff that's happened since. He's kind and caring and usually doesn't do more than raise his eyebrows when my weight occasionally goes up over the prior year. I drive a long way to stay with his practice and will keep doing so as long as he is practicing.
Dr. Susan and her team are the nicest orthodontic group I could hope for in my very, very long experience with two teenage girls in braces. Dr. Susan started looking at their teeth when they were only about 6 years old and the first got her braces at age 13. She's almost 18 now and getting them off this week! We couldn't have done it with Dr. Susan and her staff helping and encouraging all along the way. And she's also been instrumental in helping our younger one through oral surgery to correct serious issues. Dr. Susan is a real expert on pediatric orthodontics. Wish she'd been around when I had my braces!
Margaret and the staff at MDT are so talented and professional and they are the perfect guides if your dancer is serious about following a career in ballet. The summer intensive program is especially strong. And unlike some programs, they see the dancers are people as well. On top of it, the setting is unbelievably lovely!
I lucked out finding Huntington Academy of Dance (HAD) 19 years ago when, as an adult, I decided to take up tap. The studio owner made me take a year of ballet first, explaining that ballet is foundational to all dance (not to mention sports like gymnastics and skating). Imagine telling an adult, "We don't just want your money, we want you to get the appropriate dance training to meet your overall goals."??? Naturally, when I had children, I put them into the care of HAD and the excellent staff there. We're still dancing there and over the years I've taken ballet, tap, jazz, hula and embarked most recently on learning pointe. So whether you want to get back into dance or try dance for the first time, check out HAD. And if you have children, HAD dance is the place you'll want to put them because the studio and its staff care about the student, not just the fees or shows...albeit the shows, especially those out on by HAD partner Ballet Etudes, are first rate.
This store has it all...and I don't know how they fit it all in. Great selection and a great staff - very welcoming and knowledgeable. Sometimes the parking is a bummer (those cases of food get heavy) but can't beat the location nor the nice people on staff who will carry to your car if you'll let them.
Aside from Ray's in NYC, Lamonicas in downtown LA and The Venetian in Las Vegas, Pizzarito has the best thin crust in the US...and it's not a million miles away! The crust is perfect, the sauce pretty good and they put enough cheese to make it tasty and stringy but not so much you feel your covered in grease.
